How many clothes does your yorkie own? Okay ladies. I know some of us are fashion addicts, myself included, and had to pull a quick poll on the number of clothes your yorkie owns. An estimation is fine no need for an exact count. Tessa's wardrobe is multiplying exponentially and she, I admit, looks even better than me :p We got in a couple more dresses from different vendors but I haven't had the time to post them. And while we are on this topic, feel free to comment on any of the following questions: - How often does your yorkie wear clothes? - Does s/he usually have accessories to match? - What are your methods for fabric care? - How often do you shop/sew clothes for your yorkie? |
The poll won't allow voting |
Between my mom and me we probably have over 100 outfits for the girls. |

-Katie Scarlett wears clothes almost every single day. Once in a while we let her go nakee. -She has some accessories to match but not near enough! -Methods for fabric care....well if I am sewing it myself I always pre wash the fabric before working with it. If it is something I had made or made myself, I usually either wash on the delicate cycle or handwash her things. I may toss them in the dryer for a few minutes but not long. I let them air dry the rest of the way. Then I either iron all of them or hang them up with a few wrinkles. If I was being lazy and didn't iron out of the wash, I iron in the morning before getting dressed. I can't stand wrinkled clothes on me or her. Drives me crazy. LOL. I have had some dresses made for her though out of fine fabrics and have nice trims that I will have dry cleaned when the time comes. They are just special dresses, not ones she wears alot. -Hmmm....almost daily! LOL. It's a pitiful addiction, but I can't help it! :rolleyes: |
i cant even begin to count how many outfits Peyton has but its more than 100 :) |
Since I have a boy Yorkie, he only has about 20-30 shirts and sweaters. If I had a girl, it would be ALL over! |

Of course we have matching accessories! :D. Mainly hair bows. Fabric care is not usually an issue but in the past I have hand washed. I shop too often! :rolleyes: DH purchased me a sewing machine but I don't think it's my calling in life. :eek: |
- How often does your yorkie wear clothes? Only in winter to stay warm, or special occasions to look cute...like tomorrow's Scottish Festival, ZoE is wearing a tartan harness dress with matching leash & bow :) - Does s/he usually have accessories to match? Of course...a girls gotta be stylin! We always have coordinating/matching bows and I like leashes to coordinate too. - What are your methods for fabric care? Machine wash cold, hang dry. - How often do you shop/sew clothes for your yorkie? Not very often. I did buy a new sewing machine two weeks ago :D, so it should pick up. I've actually knitted more sweaters than I have sewn dresses...so far. |
My two have way to many clothes. They were them every day in the cooler and cold months, but not very often in the summer. Last time I counted the hanging items, Jada had over 100 and Bogie right at 100. I like collars, leashes and harnesses to match and Jada has a lot of jewelry and they both have bows (Jada has a lot more bows than Bogie) I wash in cold water on gentle cycle and dry on low heat or air dry, depending on the item. |
- How often does your yorkie wear clothes? - Does s/he usually have accessories to match? - What are your methods for fabric care? - How often do you shop/sew clothes for your yorkie?
My babies wear clothes daily in the winter and fall. Briefly in the summer, always on holidays. Access-some, not a lot. I machine wash the clothes, air dry, iron, hang in closet. I sew, so not alot of shopping unless I see a dress I must have! Mainly to see how it was constructed. I sew weekly, sometimes daily. Not all are finished projects, some in various stages of completion. |
Mina has approx 30 outfits per season (warm/cold). - How often does your yorkie wear clothes? Nighties at night or pjs and a tshirt or dress with matching bow every day. - Does s/he usually have accessories to match? Not really into the accessories. She does have color wooden hangers for her closet, carseat, stroller and a stack of blankies. - What are your methods for fabric care? I prefer knits, these would be altered babydresses. She also has more dressy things that I have made from cotton fabrics. All nite wear is soft knit. - How often do you shop/sew clothes for your yorkie? I will go weeks without doing anything for Mina's wardrobe and then will go nuts making hairbows, dresses and shopping for dresses for several days. |
I started to answer more in detail, then deleted my post because I am embarrassed:p. Suffice it to say Ruby has clothes - many more than I do. She does wear them most every day and has matching bows, scrunchies, etc. I machine wash (delicate cycle) most of the knit and cotton items, anything with sequins, rhinestones, or made of delicate fabric gets hand washed. The boys do have sweaters and t-shirts, but rarely wear them - they are rough and tumble boys afterall:cool: Someday when I'm ready to come clean I'll take a picture of Ruby's closets;) |

I put less than 10. In terms of clothes. lol. Although maybe now thinking about it it's a tad more. Collars/harnesses/bandanas/etc... that's a whole 'nother story. But clothes? I think he has 3 jackets, one pajamas, and a few cheap shirts from Target, etc for holidays mostly. |

I don't feel near as guilty after seeing your closets, Gennie and Michelle:p:D:D. This is Ruby's and everyone's closet. Her clothes take up most of the top rack, my foster girls have several dresses there too. The boy's clothes are on the bottom rack. I'll have to post a picture of the armoire on the next post. The top holds the bows, bling and nicknacks, the bottom has two drawers. The top drawer is packed with the girl's shirts, knit dresses, and sweaters, the bottom drawer is packed with the boys, t-shirts and sweaters. This thread made me realize something - I seriously have a problem:rolleyes: |
1 Attachment(s) Here's the armoire. We're not posting the grooming area....that's another indulgence of mine:rolleyes::D Attachment 373112 |
All these photos make me giddy. Tessa doesn't have enough for a closet but she's getting there :p Thanks for sharing ladies! It's a no brainer men don't post here :rolleyes: |
All I can say is wow, love all of the clothes and how you gals have them arranged. I put Miss Priss at 30, I am adding when I can and she has many accessories but she still has a hard time keeping bows in her hair since it is so thin and silky. She is 10 months old and not sure if she is done growing but I do love buying her clothes. Now Yoshi has a few shirts but just pouts when I put them on him. I also love collars, harness's and leashes, there are so many pretty ones. I love seeing all of these wardrobes, very nice. |

I love your wooden hangers and the way everything is so neatly displayed:) Now...I wanna see the grooming room:D |
Callie wears clothes pretty much all the time except when we go out any where when its hot or if its really hot and Sammy is over here playing with Callie. Callie although 16 pounds gets cold very easily and she just shuts down when she is cold. She always sleeps in her fleece gown too. Callie is much better dressed then me lol. I will dress her all up for pet expos and to go to the vet and stuff but I will just be in jeans and a tshirt. I make sure that Callie's clothes are pretty much all washable because I have OCD and she can get into so messy stuff but I don't dry them. |
