I totally agree with this post as far as this section is concerned. (giving you two thumbs up :thumbup:) |
I just wanted to say I have bought from a few YT sellers on threads about which brush should I use.....O never see Mim. Posting MINE! Use topline Madam brhed...its usually one if ia who love them... when there is a thread about making an emergency kit ot getting ready for spay HRM isn't pushing kissecones again iys one of us who use and love them who bring them up....however its just good business and really helpful when those sellers offer product advice or say Hi I sell those contact me with any questions here's my site etc to help people navigate. Honestly I can get cloths with a D ring attached locally but that's not an option for everyone and I personally feel its great in a fashion forum especially to use the threads as a medium for opinions on design and needs etc. I think YT sellers especially make and sell what they use and honestly some say because they couldnt find it avalible so they made it...tgey have yorkies so they know the needs etc. On that note Doggles are super in right now anyone selling them pm me! |
Just fyi to those who frequent this section: Over the last month, we've received a few different concerns again regarding this section. I'm looking into a few different options on how we can address concerns. Just wanted to make sure to let folks know I'm looking into options. :) |
I love this section. Its great to see and share other peoples creations. I've learned a lot with tips and sewing in general. This section is what gave me the inspiration to create things for my fur babies! And now I'm a fabric hoarder!!!! Lol |
I think we all are thinking the same thing here. We want to have a place where we can brag a little bit, get input from others, and Maybe learn something in the process. I love that I have learned that there are gifted and talented people on YT that are willing to show the things they are making for their babies! I love that some of these same people offer some of these items for sale. I agree that the YT forum should not be used as a way to promote sales however, with that said, I do think that people should be allowed to direct others to where they can make purchases if they so choose. I understand the concern that some may have regarding allowing "sales" through this forum however, I don't know that giving someone direction on how to make that connection is or should be against the rules. The point I guess I am trying to make is, that if we all want the same thing, I'm not sure what the real problem is. Just my thoughts. |
I love this section. I love to "show off" what I've created for my own furbabies and I love seeing what others have made for theirs. But, I think the selling should only be done in the "yorkie products for sale" section because only donating members are allowed to post items for sale. I'm not sure what the issues are because I have not read all the posts in this thread, so I may be way off base here. |

I know I post alot in this section but I have absolutely tried my best to not post anything that goes in my own etsy shop. The majority of the things I post are from things I have made from special requests people have sent me through emails or private messaging. But I know that there have been posts I have posted and fellow YT'ers may ask me a question regarding if they may purchase one like it. I always answer their questions in a pm as I know we had this issue come up before. I love YT and the fashion forum. I just hope post like mine are not going to be banned because a fellow poster asks about the selling and buying stuff. I mean, I cannot do anything about it if someone posts on a thread asking to buy a item. But again, I do address that in a pm and not on the forum. I thought I doing the right thing in that circumstance but if I'm wrong please do let me know what I need to do. I don't want to be breaking any rules or anything. YT is my favorite place to be online and I sure wouldn't want to not be here. If I have overstepped the rules in any way, I can honestly say it was a honest mistake. I in no way mean to be disrespectful towards anyone or make anyone upset with me. That may not even be the case bit I just felt the need to say the aforementioned just in case. If need be I will post pictures only and not even say who/what it's for. Maybe when we oust pictures we can just tell things like the size it is, where we got the supplies? Idk but I'll do whatever you guys agree on. :) |
This is the new policy: Update: Members are allowed ONE thread per week for posting FINISHED items, and no more than that. If you are not posting a finished item and/or just want to discuss topics or pictures of projects you're working on, this limit does not apply. If your item is more than 80% finished, please consider it a FINISHED item as it applies to this new rule; the exception to this would be if you're working on a project, it's 80% + finished, but you have a question on technique or have run into something about which you need help so that you can finish the project. In this case, you do not need to consider it a 'finished' product when posting. Please assume the week runs Monday - Sunday for the purposes of one finished-product thread per week. |

So, if I make 4 or 5 items during the week, and am proud of my hard work and wanted to share with my friends and fellow YT members, I can only show off 2 of those items in my one thread? I don't sew a lick, but if I could do crafts like that, it sure would be a bummer not to be able to show it off to my extended "family" here. I get only having 1 thread per week (that seems fair for sure), but only allowing 2 items in that thread seems kind of harsh. I've never voiced an opposition to any rules before because I think I agreed to the rules when I became a member and I think the rules are dead on. I have no dog in this fight and never will, but I think allowing only 2 items in that ONE thread per week is pretty strict. |
Ann- Gosh I would hate to be a moderator as i cant imagine its an easy job by any means. Im not sure I get where this is coming from but would you please reconsider the amount per week??? It has been so much fun looking at every one's creativity on this thread...its almost inspiring me to get my 15 year old sewing machine out to try some sewing for my girls. I get kind of sad thinking of all the ideas we will be missing out on if people only get to post two! Im thinking if its because there are so many threads in this one forum just making the OP keeping their ideas under one thread a week would slow that down... |
I'm super sad about this too... I don't sew but this forum is my favorite. :( |
