New Dresses 2 Attachment(s) Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a fabulous day! I sat down in my craft room yesterday and did a bit more sewing. I am still practicing, but I think I am getting the hang of it. I still need practice on sewing on the velcro and bows, but practice will make it better, right? LOL. Anyways, I wanted to share my dresses. First up, this is the dress I made for Katie Scarlett. I used leftover fabric I had from my first dress attempt...which you guys probably remember was just plain pitiful! LOL. It wasn't even fit to wear. But I loved the fabric so much, I had to use it. I only had enough for the top, so I added a different fabric on the bottom. Here is the dress... |
4 Attachment(s) And here is Katie Scarlett in her new dressy... |
2 Attachment(s) I made this dress to donate to Luma's Mom. She is being one of my testers I reckon'. LOL. I hope she and Luma will like it. :) |
Wow! That is beautiful! I'm trying out the iron-on velcro, lol. Much easier...checking to see that it holds.lol. Your bows are beautiful! |
2 Attachment(s) And I made this one to donate to donate to fellow YT'er 'Tutbugaloo'. I hope she and her baby will enjoy this one. :) |
Oh, and I forgot to mention...I did put the prickly part of the velcro on the top side so that it would not poke at the furbaby wearing the dress. :) I think I want to try some wider Velcro. This was the only 'sew on' Velcro they had at my local Wal Mart. All the rest was adhesive backed and I didn't want that kind. I may have to try Kathy's idea of the iron on Velcro. I'll be looking for that. Thanks for the tip Kathy!!! ;) |

***Tutbagaloo...if you do not like this one, that is ok. I am still practicing and will make you another out of a different fabric. I put this on Katie Scarlett and thought it was cute. But I may have different tastes than others. Sorry! Now I'm sad! My husband just ruined my day! Tee hee! |

Everybody's tastes are different, some will like, some won't. Just ignore and move on! Oh and you can do the longer velcro at the neck too! |
Thanks for posting those pix Kathy! Thanks guys for your kind comments too! :) |
Oh my Amyee...these are great! They look excellent to me...I think you got this pattern down  I absolutely love the print in the 1st one:) KS looks just gorgeous in her "mommy made me dress" she looks very proud too! |
I think they are all cute. I don't see what's not to like. I knew you would do a great job of sewing, once you got it figured out, after I saw your great craft projects. |
Your little Katie Scarlett looks beautiful in her dress! You sure are catching on fast and doing a great job! |
Wow... You did a Great job! What a big difference from your first attempt and this one. Plus you make additional dressed for others... You are on a roll. Kayie Scarletts closet is going to fill up with beautiful dresses in no time at all. Where did you get the pattern? |

I am also very crafty but I guess I get a little nervous with new crafts  I tend to be a perfectionist. If you end up making any little boy clothes let me know. I would love to buy one for Rudi :D Happy Crafting!!! |
Oh goodness, that is adorable! Thank you again, and Katie Scarlett looks sooo sweet in the one you made for her :) And Tutbugaloo's is cute too, sorry DH! I like the mix of prints. |
Your definitaly getting good at making these and they are just darling. As for the velcro, I buy mine at Betty's fabric by the yard. I buy the 2" wide so I can just cut it to fit the larger area at the belly or the smaller at the neck. It's much cheaper by the yard too. ;) |
pardon my spelling of the word "definitely" |
I am so impressed!!! I wish I could sew like that! Katie Scarlett is going to be the best dressed girl on YT! |
Good job Amyee! They look fantastic! I especially love the first one and looks like KS does too! |
nice job! You should be very proud. Someday maybe I will try. |
Aymee those dresses are darling!! The color and pattern combinations are amazing as well!!! I know what you mean about velcro.....I could only find the thin stuff at walmart. I did find some at Hancock Fabric that is wider and you can buy by the yard. They are very pretty!!! If you ever start making smalls, hit me up. I would love to be a customer :D |
You are doing a remarkable job! I'm so impressed. They are very pretty dresses. |
aymee i think they are all wonderful! your doing such a fabulous job! i got my patterns and im already lost!! haha. im going to study them closely this week and try getting my sewing on this upcoming weekend. somehow i do not think i will even come close to how great you are doing!! well see. keep up the good work KS is going to have the best closet ever. |

Beautiful! |
I just found this fashion section, I could see myself hanging out here so many good ideas here. Amyee I am so impressed, first you are getting them done so fast, and second they look so professional. I can not believe you are new at this because not only do the dresses look good, but your stitching seems perfect so nice and straight. |
