Hey y'all! Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a fabulous day! I sat down in my craft room yesterday and did a bit more sewing. I am still practicing, but I think I am getting the hang of it. I still need practice on sewing on the velcro and bows, but practice will make it better, right? LOL. Anyways, I wanted to share my dresses.

First up, this is the dress I made for Katie Scarlett. I used leftover fabric I had from my first dress attempt...which you guys probably remember was just plain pitiful! LOL. It wasn't even fit to wear. But I loved the fabric so much, I had to use it. I only had enough for the top, so I added a different fabric on the bottom. Here is the dress...

I made this dress to donate to Luma's Mom. She is being one of my testers I reckon'. LOL. I hope she and Luma will like it. :)

Wow! That is beautiful! I'm trying out the iron-on velcro, lol. Much easier...checking to see that it holds.lol. Your bows are beautiful!

Oh, and I forgot to mention...I did put the prickly part of the velcro on the top side so that it would not poke at the furbaby wearing the dress. :)

I think I want to try some wider Velcro. This was the only 'sew on' Velcro they had at my local Wal Mart. All the rest was adhesive backed and I didn't want that kind. I may have to try Kathy's idea of the iron on Velcro. I'll be looking for that. Thanks for the tip Kathy!!! ;)

You can put two strips side by side to make it thicker. I put a longer length on the bottom, 'hook to' side, so it makes the size a little bit adjustable... a little tighter or a little looser. I'll see if I can find a pic, lol.:D

Well my husband just informed me he did not like this dress! :( He did not like the fabric choices I made. I thought they were cute together. The pinks in the top fabric match the whale fabric and the pattern in the pink fabric reminded me of sea weed. So it may be a dud.

Good idea! I will do that to all 3 of these so that they will be more adjustable! You are brilliant Kathy! :)

I think they look cute! I bought a sewing machine last summer and I regret to say I have hardly used it. I am proud of you! Good job!

Made pics: this is the original pattern, but I made it as a long vest for my boy.... (I only had white velcro at the time....and my 2nd creation, lol)

Haha! I think it's cute! My BFF asked how in the world I came up with the bicycle/sunflower combo... out of the thousands of fabric choices available to me, Lol! When I did it I wasn't sure myself, but I love watching the Tour de France bicycle race, so this combo is a sentimental tribute to the race... plus it's a 3 week event, not just one special day!
Everybody's tastes are different, some will like, some won't. Just ignore and move on!

Oh and you can do the longer velcro at the neck too!

Oh my Amyee...these are great! They look excellent to me...I think you got this pattern down :thumbup:

I absolutely love the print in the 1st one:) KS looks just gorgeous in her "mommy made me dress" she looks very proud too!
