Where do you keep clothes?? After accumulating so much for Bella, I decided that it is time to find a new place to keep her stuff. What works best for you guys? Closet? Armoire? Dresser? Drawer? Please post pics and/or tell me your solution and where to find it! THANKS!!!!! |
3 Attachment(s) I have Jada and Bogie's clothes in bookcases. I removed the shelves and cut dowel rods or you can use tension rods for hanging. Works perfect for me since we live in a small house and they don't take up much room. If I had more space I would love to have an armoire for each of them:)Attachment 363807 Attachment 363808 Attachment 363809 |

That is awesome!!! We live in a smaller house too. So space is definitely lacking. I love this though!! About how tall are they? |

3 Attachment(s) I recycled an old armoire that my mother-in-law gave me. I gave it a fresh coat of paint and added pink/black zebra print boxes to many of the shelves inside and below so that it would match Katie Scarlett's doggy condo theme. LOL. Then on the top shelf, I added in a tension rod to hang her clothes. This is the case without any clothes on the top shelf before she arrived, but I can take pix of it full today if you want. :) She has aquired more clothes than I! LOL (excuse pic quality...I took these pix at night) |

Oh my goodness I love that!!! I am loving the pink and black theme! My favorite! :) I am hoping to get some great ideas and put together something....well have DH out together something. I am not much of a handy woman. LOL! |
1 Attachment(s) Here's one of our closets. It has an imprint of a paw on top that you can't see! |
I just use the closet in their bedroom...:D |
awwww we're jealous! we'd like our own room too but then we wouldn't be able to sleep with our mommy and that makes sleepytime no fun! plus, mommy would never be able to sleep without us! she always kisses us while we sleep and wakes us up. hmmm maybe our own room would be worth a shot. |

Everyone has such pretty closets. We're jealous. We use under-the-bed storage boxes. Not very pretty at all. |
I have one of thOse shoe hangers on the back of my closet door. It has 24 slots and each slot will hold 2-3 outfits depending on thickness. I just fold or roll them and put them in! Not the best system but it works and it is out of the way! |
I use a combination of the three: closet, drawers, armoire. They have their own closet in their room. They have a rack of clothes hanging up. Under that is 6 big plastic drawers that have their sweaters, blankets, etc. It didn't take long before this wasn't enough so I added an armoire as well. I can tell you I don't like the drawers, not for clothes anyways. It is a pain when you are looking for a particular outfit and you have to shuffle through all the clothes to find that one outfit. Whereas when it is hanging up, you can easily find what you are looking for. If I had a bigger armoire or closet I would just put only blankets in the drawers and hang all their clothes up. |
I am in the process of converting my daughters room into my crafty room. Her room has a walk in closet. It's not anything special, but I intend to use a section of that to organize all the girls' things we keep accumulating. This thread has given me lots of very helpful ideas. |
We have a two bedroom house for now. Plan on building on to it soon. So space is limited. I do love Michelle's idea of converting bookcases into a closet. I think the two shelf one at walmart would be perfect at the bottom of our closet! Is there any way I can paint this thing? I love to customize things if at all possible....so painting is almost a must! LOL! Eventually when we do build on (within the next year) including another room is a must! :p |

How did you get the dowel rods in there? Just a tight fit? or did you cut like some sort of groove for them to fit in? Sorry for the 20?s I am trying to get all this info before I head to walmart this morning. LOL |
Thats fine Danielle....I cut the dowel rods the same length as the shelves and then used a drill bit to start my hole and screwed them in from the sides...I think I can take a pic so you can see...and if you have a dollar tree....they have some of the cutest wall stickers that you can use to decorate it with:D |

I have never used a saw before.....or a drill. This should be fun! LOL! Yup we have a dollar tree not too far from my house! I got the bookcase....dowel rods.....saw....and fabric cube containers for the bottom....next stop....dollar tree. :) |
2 Attachment(s) Attachment 363886 Attachment 363887 The first pic is the view from the side of the bookcase and second pic is the inside. The dowels need to fit pretty snug so the bookcase doesn't wobble. I would suggest getting a smaller diameter dowel. I had these on hand and just used them and they work fine if you are using the baby hangers from walmart. I have been buying 7" doll hangers and the rod is a little large for those. |
1 Attachment(s) Here it is!!!! Just started putting her stuff in it too!!! :) I found all the stuff at walmart. Including the storage at the bottom. :) |
That is so very cute! I love it! So much so that I am reconsidering my plan. |
Wow that was quick Danielle!!! I love the black shelving unit and the purple storage boxes!!! You can really pack a lot on the rods on these little closets!! I wish I could have done black....but the spare bedroom I used is painted with a Raggedy Ann and Andy theme::p from when my Granddaughter was a baby. I have since turned it into a walk-in closet/sewing room and hated to repaint..lol My granddaughter is 8 but she still asks what I did with her crib and toddler bed..haha. She would throw a fit if I painted over "her room":D |

I love the black one because it kinda goes with the theme in our room. I did like the white one though, but they didn't have it. Only a light wood color and black. I came home with a saw and the bookcase....you wouldn't believe the look I got from DH!!! :p:eek::D |

LOL mine is used to it...I have my own power tools. I asked for a jigsaw for Christmas a couple of years ago. My MIL said DH asked her if I was serious...haha he was afraid to get it for me:p I love my tools. I can make things without having to wait on him:p |
You girls are cracking me up! Too funny. Michelle, do you think a tension curtain rod would work or would the clothes be too heavy and pull it down? Although, we don't have near as many clothes as Jada has. (yet) :D:D:p |
