Thanks for the welcome. I'm going to have a difficult time waiting another 9 weeks! How old were your babies when you brought them home? My breeder will let them go earlier than 12 weeks but I'd heard that was a good age for Yorkies because they do better staying with mom and littermates that long. Do you agree?

It's Hawaiian and means 'bright star'. I actually chose the name first and then when the breeder showed me pictures of the 2 females in the litter (I have first pick) I discovered that the smaller female had a white star on her chest - so the decision was made for me

| congrats and welcome to YT, before you know it the little one will be home with you, what a lovely name. The white blaze on your little girl means she should have quantity of coat and will deminish as she matures.

HI. welcome! to answer your question.. my breeder wanted to keep layla until she was either 2 lbs or 12 weeks.. whichever came first... she was tiny and only 1.9 lbs when we brought her home at 12 weeks! hope the wait goes by fast for you!

To tell the truth, the wait is d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g! But, I know I'm doing what's best for her by waiting. In the meantime this site certainly keeps me entertained

BTW, I just adore the little Hawaiian harnesses at Tinkerbell's Closet. Any advice on what size I should get for when Hoku comes home at 12 weeks? I don't want to wait too long to order and not have a harness available when I need it. The breeder 'thinks' she'll mature to about 4 pounds.
