Sleeping 1 Attachment(s) After 15 years of waiting, I finally got my Yorkie and I am sooo excited!!! Ellie Mae is 9 weeks old, 3lbs and about 17 inches long, and sleeps alot. Is this normal? She is doing very well on her training pads for urine, not so much for poop. I have to lead her to her water and food bowl and eats some but not a lot. Is all this normal. I do know about hypoglycemia, so I am very mindful of her eating. |

I don't know where I am..my little one is 14wks. My husband held her on the scale & she was wearing a tiny jacket then weighed himself and subtracted. She was 900gms & I was delighted. Then we checked today just to see. She didn't have her jacket on and her weight was 700gms!:( So we went out & bought new batteries. her jacket is light weight and so tiny..I can't imagine it weighs to to much. But I will wait until tomorrow to weigh her first thing before she has eaten. She has grown so much and is double her size in length. Ax :aimeeyork |

Young puppies generally do sleep quite a lot but I found mine to be quite hyperactive a good part of the day and would suddenly crash for a short while before she was off again. She eats well now but mostly has very small amounts a few times a day.. You sound to be managing your little one very well. And training her well..lots of praise is the trick when they get it right...but I think in the end lots of patience is the winner. We found as they are teething and will chew anything & everything..we did a check of all the rooms she is allowed in and lifted up things like electrical wires (which she loves to chew) & and other objects not for her. We also have her puppy mats down for wee's as well as newspaper. But she ripped up the newspaper & that can block off the airway so no more newspapers down for her and I made sure no magazines were on the floor. We close off my husbands study doors as there are computer wires galore in there! Oh dear..but they do grow up. Good luck with your's & keep us updated:) and oh..how come it took 15yrs to get a Yorkie? ..:aimeeyork Ax |
Hi Hollie I had to wait 15 years because they were just too expensive and I was a single mom etc etc.... As for her chewing she is doing well with that also, I just tap her nose, say no.. then give her something to chew on. I work on it each day. She is also learning to sit. I am home all day, I'm a student so, we are together constantly . I take her to her wee wee pads every two hours and I do praise her and when she goes she gets a tiny liver treat, if she goes poop and pee she gets the other half. We tried taking her outside.. she had no part of that!!!!! So we will eventually move the wee wee pad outside when I know her schedule. |
Congratulations! She is adorable. Puppies take a lot of patience. Just be consistent with potty training and she will get it eventually :) |
