| how to chose a yorkie color? I want to buy a yorkie boy for my bella. I know that yorkie's born completely black so how do you know if its gonna have tan on him or what?? Is it just by looking at the parents or is there a way to know if its gonna be tan in some areas???? |

| Actually most yorkie pups are born with tan points, not all black. Most will have tan on them. Color is pretty much an unpredictable thing with yorkies. Sure it might help seeing the parents, but you just never know what color or shade of color you will end up with. A breeder that really knows their lines will be able to give you an idea but it is no guarantee. It can take up to 2-3 years for a yorkie's coat for all changes to be done. Here is a picture of my yorkie pups when they were just a day old, you can see the tan points.

| If you go to a reputable breeder they will have a good idea what color their puppies will be. They know their lines many generations back. However, if you are looking for a specific color, consider adopting an adult. It is the only way to guarantee you will get what you want. Adults need love too.
