Quints Are Thriving 3 Attachment(s) My little bottlefed quintuplets are thriving so I thought it about time I posted some pics. I found that is not the easiest thing to do with tiny puppies. They wanted to curl up and sleep not look at the camera, especially after that first flash went off. First are pics at one week, two weeks, and one of them at 3 weeks |
4 weeks old! 4 Attachment(s) Here they are at 4 weeks old today. They are the most loving little puppies I have ever seen. They all give kisses, love being held and can really make a mess with a bowl of milk! This is just 4 of the 5, one more post to get the 5th one. |
Goldie at 4 weeks 1 Attachment(s) We have been calling them by the colors of their little yarn necklaces that I use to tell them apart and record weights. That was so we would not get too attached......yea, right....like that really worked! LOL! We even made "names" out of the colors. Gold became "Goldie, " Turquoise became "the Turq, " Blue became "little Boy Blue" and now "Big Blue," etc... I love these little guys. They are already displaying their own unique personalities. I have a very impatient one that gets so excited over her bottle I have to sometimes hold her head a little to calm her enough to get the nipple in her mouth. Another just is so laid back he takes forever to drink his milk. And this little girl Goldie will give kisses all day if you let her. |
Oh my GOODNESS...they are so so precious! Take some kisses for me, OK? |
Oh my!!!! These puppies are 4 weeks old already???!!!!! I can hardly believe it. I've read your thread of when they were born; seems like only yesterday, I can't believe they are a month old already. Well obviously you are being a wonder surrogate mom for them.......doing everything right to get them to where they are today. CONGRATULATIONS to you for getting them through! They look healthy and adorable and it's an easy bet to say that you are going to have a very difficult time parting with any of these little ones. Hugs & to you on a job well done. Those puppies are giving you lots of kisses thanking you for taking such good care of them. |
Your such a great mom. Those babies are just beautiful! |
You have gorgeous babies! Good job mom! |
Theyre beautiful. What a great job youve done. Way to go. |
Thanks to everyone for such kind words. Funny how proud you can get over a litter of puppies. You'd think I had birthed them myself or something. :D I am amazed at these little ones. They are beating the odds. No one thought the littlest one would make it. At two weeks he was still only a little over 5 ounces. He would not latch on to the bottle so I had to feed him with a syringe. But now, he is first in line for dinner time and can drink milk from the bowl like a pro! Gotta love them! Wanted to add that I have been getting a lot of help from the pros over on the Breeders forum -- God bless them! |
You have done such a wonderful job! They all look so great! You have had your hans full!!! Thank You for posting pictures!!! |
They are adorable. |
What beautiful little babies they are. And congratulations to you for helping them thrive. :) |
Beautiful puppies... They ARE adorable!! Good JOB!! I know you must be SO very attached. I am so sorry to hear you lost mom though. Was this their first litter together? |
I'm sure being mom to them you are really bonded. Are you keeping them all? I know I have a hard time selling mine and I don't have to be 'mom'. I sure admire you for being able to do this. |
Oh....they are just too precious...... They look so strong and healthy :-) |
You did it...Pat yourself on the back because you need to write the book on how to raise Yorkie pups...Great Job.. |
You going to have a hard time separating from those adorable babies. |
I had them all out in the living room on a blanket today playing with them and was thinking the same thing -- going to be so terribly hard to let them go. I just cannot keep all five. They climb all over me and give kisses like you wouldn't believe! I will try to get some new pictures this weekend. |
Oh my goodness these pups are so cute you could just eatem up! :) Reading your thread is just like reliving the last five weeks at our house. Time flies and it does feel like you are their birth mommy. (People at work get sick of listening to stories of the puppies, but too bad!) It will be hard to let them go, but you have the most important part of their lives, the formative time and what we do and dont do with them will determine a lot of what kind of dogs they will become for their forever mommies. What a responsibility. And an honor. Dont ya just feel blessed? So enjoy every minute with them, take lots of pictures, and consider it a privelege to have had the experience. |
Quints are 8 Weeks Old! 3 Attachment(s) Ben and Sadie's "kids" are 8 weeks old today. This has been truly amazing! I love every one of them. They are all spunky and spoiled. They want to get out of the play yard more and more. When I let them out they run around, jump and play like school has just let out. They have plenty of room in the play yard but it's not the same cause no people are in there. Here are some pics I took today. These are the 3 girls! |
3 Attachment(s) Here are the two boys and a picture of one of the girls from the side so you can see their build. They are all almost identical except the larger male. He is a chunk but has a great build as well, he just eats really well! :) |
I wish I could get better pictures of them. They never look all happy in the pictures like they do in real life. I guess it is because I have them held out in one hand with a big ol' boxy camera staring at them and flashing a light in their eyes. Yes, I can see how that might not bring on the smiles. I am having a ball with these little ones. Today they tore into a Squirrel in the Tree Jr. Toy and they loved it. They can crawl right on into the "tree." |
WOW! Your quints are looking GREAT.......so adorable! You have done an amazing job getting these little ones to where they are today. Super job! Congrats! |
They look adorable. I wish the pics were bigger. You must be havinf a blast with them!! |
They are all so cute! I would love to be able to have 5 little ones like that at one time!! |

They are gorgous..I bet they follow you around everywhere. So which one are you going to keep? You did such a Great Job and as I said before you should wriite a book on how to care for Yorkie Pups from Birth and up...Bless You.... |
Thanks everyone! Yes, they do follow me everywhere when I have them out of the play yard. They are now hating being put back in the play yard so I am getting the first whimpering and it breaks my heart. They want to be right with me all the time. They still do that dangerous thing of trying to be right where your next step is going to be so I find myself sort of skating along without raising my feet from the ground. When I let them out, we head for the living room where I have a big blanket on the floor and a pee pad off to the side. I get on the floor and they literally crawl all over me. They are half mountain goat, I think! I am still not sure which one to keep. They are all so similar but there are little differences in personality. One day I will like all the rough-housing so I want to keep the rowdy girl. Then I have a tired day and I say no, I am keeping my little boy, he is the "hold me, cuddle me" type. I may just keep the last one left as I sell them. |
Growing up fast! They are beautiful! At what age are you going to start placing them? |
they are super cuties :) |
