My Sassy delivered 5 healthy puppies last night. She did great once again, this is her 3rd litter. 4 girls and 1 boy, all weighing between 5 and 6 ozs. I had figured today as her due date, but am glad they are here and she had them in the evening instead of keeping me up all night

Here's a pic, hope to get some soon of each puppy, but Mom is kinda giving me dirty looks when I mess with them, so will wait on that!

Thanks everyone for your compliments, they are doing just great. I think they will get big quick as they are sucking everytime I take a peek at them.

wow, they are so beautiful and sweet, and mom looks like she is so sleepy.....glad to see someone else from Iowa on here

Wow, how did I miss this thread for 3 days? Beautiful litter of 5 puppies, congratulations to you and Sassy. With 5 of them all in the 5 and 6 ounce range, mama must have gotten a pretty big belly. How much does she weigh normally?

Sassy normally weighs right around 8 lbs. She weighed 11.5 the day before she delivered. Actually this was her smallest litter, her first time she had 7, the second time, 6, but the puppies all weighed more this time. At just 4 days old, they are already little butterballs, eat, eat, eat!
