How To Post Pictures On Members Profile Pages
 
For those that don't know and want to join in the fun of sharing pictures on people profiles here are some instructions...

1... go to a photo hosting site such as Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and search for a photo.

2... Click on the photo you want to enlarge it, below the photo is a set of boxes, click in the bottom one entitled "IMG Code" and it will copy the url for that picture.

3... go to the person's profile page you want to post the photo in and right click in the box to bring up the menu and select Paste.

4... hit submit and you're good to go! :D

ENJOY! :D

You don't need to go to an image hosting place; Yorkietalk allows you to build your own albums. You can also include gif files (moving animations) to post in your messages.

No you're right you don't.... but you can get lots of variety from places like photobucket and they have a searchable database. :D

I'm glad you guys got such a good chuckle. That got more laughs than any of my jokes. :D


Rudys Mom, if you look at your avatar, you will see that it shows several pictures, not just one; this is called an animated gif. The word "gif" just stands for "graphic interchange format." It's a picture that can be used on the Internet. When a series of pictures are grouped together, it is called an "animated gif". Those cute messages and sparkly pictures are animated gif files too. Knowing this will help in your search for pictures.

Is that too complicated? Half the battle is learning the terminology. :)

That's strange... I've never had a problem with Photobucket. I just checked the link and it looks to be working fine now... :confused:

Somehow, through my blunder I was able to make an album but I don't know how to put a picture under my name. I am computer illiterate and have loaded my pictures on my computer under my pictures... Could someone try to guide me through loading these? Thank you so much in advance for all of your assistance!

Charlie boys photo is not in the box
 
:confused:Sorry but I must be daft.. I became a member and got a picture of my Charlie set up ( I thought) in his profie BUT every time I post a reply or thread Charlies name comes up with his box (where the photo should be) with a question mark in it. I go back to his profile and his picture is there but not in the box.. can you help?

There is a difference between the "avatar" and the "profile picture." The avatar is the picture besides you name, the profile picture is the picture on your profile page. The profile picture can be 200 pixels, while the avatar for a non-donating member can only be 75 pixels. You upload both of the pictures by going to "user CP" and you will see the words, "edit profile picture" and "edit avatar." You want to choose "edit avatar."

It looks like you have set a profile photo instead of an avatar picture. To set an avatar picture so that it displays on your posts you need to to to "User CP" and click "Edit Avatar" then upload your photo and save. Be sure your picture is below the maximum file limits.
