I know I'm not in any of those states but I have a little boy that will be ready toward the end of Sept.If interested e-mail me at sunsetyorkies@roadrunner.com I'm in Ohio |
thanks for the offer but they're a little bit bigger than i wanted.they are adorable but i don't want to go over 5 pounds. |
Well good luck on your search and welcome to YT! |
Just wanted to say good luck in your search:) . And Welcome to YT Maybe you should look for a full grown yorkie that way you can make sure. Even if mom and dad are over or under is no guarantee My Daisy Mae's mom and dad are both larger and she is right at 5 pounds at 5 1/2 years old....... |
thanks...ya i know what you mean but im just going to be very careful with their diet also because im purchasing 2 females in the future as well. |

Welcome to YT. You have to feed the kids the right amount of food regardless of what size you want them to be. Good breeders would be leary of selling you a pup with that mindset. Sorry |

All of mine eat the same, and I have one who is 11 pds and nuetered, two 6.5pds and one 7 pd.Feeding them less will not stop what they are meant to be. |

The picture is from July but he hasn't changed much since then. I left my camera at our daughter's 2 weeks ago and haven't had time to go get it. I will gladly post new photos if you are interested. |
I have three boys that will be ready end of September AND I could have met you in Louisiana AND their price will be under $1000. BUT - you're SOL after your feeding statement. |
Wow, some of you are very ignorant. Perhaps you should try asking me what I mean before telling me that I am "SOL". For those of you that were wondering what I meant by that, my vet told me the reason that some yorkies are considerably bigger than other is too much protein in their diet. I am not quite sure how you guys translated what I said into "I plan on starving my dogs so they will be small, regardless of malnutrition". We currently have english bulldogs, which require a ton of protein, which is another reason for my statement. And as for the person who said I am SOL on buying her puppies, fine. If you are going to be that immature, I don't mind finding another breeder. Thanks, and good luck! I hope this cleared up any confusion about my post! |

I have to say Valentino is sooooooo cute! I would grab him up in a heartbeat! But I think DH would kill me if I got ANOTHER yorkie after allowing to get 3 at a time! :p lol... Valentino is just so cute though!! :) |
Hi and good luck in your search, I'm sure if you check the nursery here and the featured breeders section you will find what your looking for! |

No hard feelings, I hope. Good luck in your search. |
I'm still confused. Its genetics not protein, that determines how big they will get. Are you talking about preventing a Yorkie from being overweight or controlling their full grown size? |
of course preventing from being over weight.i have my own english bulldogs and i don't engage in animal cruelty.i love my puppies! |
Sorry, it was just very confusing the way it was worded because no one can guarantee what a puppy will weigh as an adult and excess protein has nothing to do with their weight unless they are in their senior years. I would still recommend getting an adult Yorkie as well if you have an absolute weight limit. Why the weight limit? Are you wanting to breed? Most sellers on here sell with limited registrations only. |
the protein thing was what ive been told by a vet.ya i am breeding in the future.well im VERY suprised at how judgemental and rude people were to me on this forum like i've never owned a dog. so now i probably won't get one from here now. |

Regardless, I am glad you are here. It takes a lot of research before you can start breeding Yorkies successfully. You're in the right place and hopefully you will get the answers to your questions here and find a mentor to help you along the way. |
i am on here to find out as much as possible but i am not sure whether this is the board i want to stay with.i am not brand new to the breed. i don't think people need to be so immature and disrespectful. :thumbdown once again i know how to take care of a dog! |
well I am sorry if you took offense at my post. We have had two or three people come on here and talk about not feeding their dogs so they will stay small. the way you worded your post sounded a lot like that. |

There is a difference between taking care of a dog and being a good breeder. I'm sure you take very good care of your dogs. You're starting off the right way by coming on here to do your research first. You might want to try the breeder section. Since you are currently looking for a Yorkie to breed, they can help tell you what to look for. Since you already know the breed, you know that Yorkies tend to take on traits of the grandparents more so than the parents. So you may want to ask some questions regarding the weight of the grandparents while looking for you new baby. |

is this not you? pardon me if I read it to think you are not familiar with yorkies yet here you say, " I am not new to the breed". i found this post from yesterday. we are only trying to help you and as someone else said, why get bent out of shape. I am purchasing my first yorky soon and i don't know what kind of food to give to my baby. What would be the best dog food for yorkies? Do i switch foods when it gets over one year? |
