Yorkie needed to help healing (In Kansas)
 

As many of you read I lost my little Duke on Thursday. He was my only Yorkie. I have 3 other dogs and they are not the same. I have a void in my life and my home is too quite. It is amazing how full a 4 lbs dog can make it.
I want to get another YT and soon. but I do not have alot to spend, I don't want to sound cheap but I was only able to have Duke because he was very ill and was not expected to live. I don't have more than 500.00 and that will be hard to come up with.

If anyone knows of a breeder in Kansas (Close to Wichita) that does not want an arm and leg for a baby please let me know.

have you tried a rescue?

I'm so sorry you are hurting. I know a new yorkie wont take the place of Duke, but I know it will help heal the heart.

After I lost Kloey who was also hit by a car, I got Lillie 2 weeks later and it was the best thing I could have done!

So I say GO for it!!

Maybe you can find a breeder who will work payments with you, $500 down is a lot. Then maybe you can work out some deal.

I am sure there is a special yorkie out there for you to help in your
healing. Be patient and it will happen.

I checked on these ones and filled out the form for the rescue group, but I havn't heard back and my heart is breaking every day. I don't know if a rescue group will let me have one. Every form ask if I have a fenced yard- No I use a kennel unless I out with them and also I have a rott. dog that is very gentle but they all seem to frown on big dogs and little dogs together. Lakota would never hurt anything. He plays with kittens and baby ducks even. He loves being a big brother.

Check with your local humane society or shelter,you would be amazed how many yorkies people turn in.

I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. I know you must be grieving terribly right now. Maybe I can help start to heal the heartache. I have a little boy that is eight weeks old and will be nine weeks old this coming weekend. I expect him to be about 4 to 5 pounds as and adult. His mother is 5 pounds and his daddy was just at 4 pounds. I have attached some pictures for you and put some out on photobucket for you to look at. I am in the process of putting pictures of his parents out on photobucket so you can see them too. I live in Randolph Kansas. You spoke to my doggie partner Kathy on the phone today. If you are interested in this little guy she could bring him to you on Thursday. She is going to a show in Texas and will be going your way. This little guy is very short to the ground....I took some measurements for you so you can get an idea of his size. His little neck is 5.5 inches around. His chest is 8.5 inches around and his legs from the top of his shoulders to the ground are 4.5 to 5 inches long. He wouldn't stand still for that one. He was busy trying to figure out why he was on my table LOL!!! He is not very big at all. He is a real sweetheart and full of energy. They were born in my home and have had lots of TLC from the day they were born. He loves people already and loves to be with you and being held. Let me know if you are interested in this little one. isn't 8 weeks old pretty young for a yorkie to leave mama?

I have heard so many horror stories of yorkies leaving mamma to soon and then getting sick.

Missy he will be 9 weeks by this weekend I know that is young but I do know Pam and she would never let him go if he wouldn't be ready. she is the one who had bit bit the Biewer he was supper small an still I think she kept him till her was 16 weeks . (correct me me if I'm wrong pam :) )

The puppies will be 9 weeks old on Friday. They are ready well most of them are ready I do have one little boy that I would not let go right now. He is very tiny and I want to keep him for a while longer yet. They have been eating for weeks now and weaned for over two weeks. I pay attention to the eating habits of a puppy, the size of a puppy and the personality of a puppy before I let them go at any age. They are just like us and some adapt to change better than others. This little guy is ready to go at almost nine weeks but his brother just is not ready yet. I stand behind my babies and will be ready to help in any way I can should a puppy get sick after it gets home. I have not had that problem in the past but there is always a first time for everything. Thank you for your concern. We do need to do everything we can to make sure our babies are healthy and stay that way. I agree!

BitBit, Angel and CoCo were all older before we would let them go. They were all tiny and we just did not think they were ready. We would not ship any of them. I met their new moms at the airport and the babies flew back on the plane with them. Angel was born in July and did not leave me until she Feb. of this year because she was so tiny. It all really depends on the size, personality and eating habits of the baby. I use that to decide when to let them go and also if I will or will not ship a puppy. You can have a bigger puppy but with a shy personality that does not handle change well. I will not ship a puppy if that is the situation. These guys are with me from the time they are born until they are ready to go to their new homes. I get to know them pretty well and I know their personalities very well before they leave me. They all end up with little nick names because of their personalities. This little guy I have offered I call Squirt. He knows it and just comes running when I say "were is my little Squirt?" He is so darn cute. I just love them all. And try to do my best to make sure they are happy, healthy and well adjusted and socialized before they leave me.

I hope she gets the little puppy he is really cute!

When I lost my little Summer I had to get another puppy to help my healing process. I ended up getting another female and she is 7 days younger than my little Summer was. She has helped soo much with my healing. She is really different from Summer, but she is wonderful. As hard as it is it really does help. Good luck!
