| Hi Redvette. Thanks so much for your nice post. No, not much can be done for Newman. Originally, when he was operated on our vet said not to worry, that he thought he may have stepped on glass or had a splinter that lodged in the pad and caused inflamation. He told us that cancer in the foot pad is so rare that he wasn't concerned. A week later, our vet called and you could hear his voice breaking on the phone (We've been going to the same vet for 10 years) and he told me how sorry he was, that it turned out to be a tumor and that it was a stage III mass cell tumor. The option we had was Radiation Treatment, at a cost of about $5,000 and my husband and I would have went for that but the vet told us that in his opinion it would not cure it - it would just prolong until the tumor reappeared again. The other option we have is to have the tumor removed again, when it comes back but his foot is tiny and to keep putting him through this is unfair. Right now he's fine, he's not suffering. You wouldn't even know he was sick, as a matter of fact he seems like a puppy, better the he's ever been so this is how we're going to leave him and when the time comes and we see differently then we'll do the right thing. The vet said we'd have about a year and we're just enjoying the time with him and spoiling as we've always done. I couldn't see putting him through Radiation at ten years old, having him so sick from it, just to prolong the time he has. Let him live and enjoy himself pain free for whatever time is left. Thanks again Redvette for you nice post. Elaine |

| it wasn't that I didn't think anyone on YT would be good to her. if you know me at all, you know ALL my babies have gone to YT members. it was that the ones that contacted me only wanted her for breeding and didn't even know anything abiout breeding. or was just getting started. i didn't want her in a kennel or bred at her first heat. or even end up ion a puppy mill. Also, just so you know , I turn down YT people every day as buyers for my puppies. Just because they are YT members doesn't qualify them for one of my babies. I am VERY selective where my dogs go as any good breeder should be. i hope this answers your question Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 05-20-2007 at 09:08 AM. |

| Sure does answer my question. And I have only heard wonderful things about you on this forum, so I do know that you are selective. Good for you for finding the best homes for your pups. Now I hope that Holly finds the best forever home. |

| She's absolutely gorgeous and will make someone very happy. I'm so sorry that you have to rehome her. I would have loved to have her, had I not just gotten my new baby about a week ago. |

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | She is sooo beautiful! Please let us know when she finds a forever home, it would be great if it is to a YT member If I ever had to rehome or sell my two they would def. go to a YT member, not that I am selling them, or could ever think of doing it

| Hello! We have had so many wonderful people email us! MinMuf1 and her 4 little furbabies live locally and sound like a wonderful home. We are setting up a time for Holly to meet her and her family to see how they do together! I spoke with her on the phone and her family seems wonderful. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks! |

| Oh, what a sad story! My husband got out of the Army almost 2 years ago. We were so scared that he'd get called back, or sent on another long tour of duty. Luckily for our pets, we were never sent to an overseas duty station. Instead we were at Fort Hood for almost 5 years! We are still looking to add another furbaby to our home. Please let us know if you are able to find a home for your baby. I'll PM you more of our family information so that we can also be in the running if need be. Best of luck! |

| Have you ever though about placing her in a Home for two years till you get back? I know I am a long ways away but If I were closer I would spoil her for two years for ya!!!!LOL Just a thought so you could have your baby back when you are done serving our country
