I guess I felt as though I was trying to replace my baby. Hubby surprised me for Mother's Day with a little 11 week old girl who happened to be born a few blocks from us. She felt right. I'm glad I have my girl but had I seen your baby first she def. would have been the one. She is stunning. Please, Holly look for a nice family home for your girl. Nothing against breeders or breeding but I know if it were me I wouldn't want my girl bred over and over then maybe placed in another home when she was retired. I wish you and your husband the best and I hope you find the right home for her. All the best to you and your family. Elaine.
SO SORRY TO HEAR THIS !! I don't mean to go off topic but just had to say that Elaine. I really am sorry...is there nothing they can do ??

and ALL THE BEST TO HOLLY !! She really is a beautiful girl and I hope she finds a great new home and good luck to you too

Hi Redvette. Thanks so much for your nice post. No, not much can be done for Newman. Originally, when he was operated on our vet said not to worry, that he thought he may have stepped on glass or had a splinter that lodged in the pad and caused inflamation. He told us that cancer in the foot pad is so rare that he wasn't concerned. A week later, our vet called and you could hear his voice breaking on the phone (We've been going to the same vet for 10 years) and he told me how sorry he was, that it turned out to be a tumor and that it was a stage III mass cell tumor. The option we had was Radiation Treatment, at a cost of about $5,000 and my husband and I would have went for that but the vet told us that in his opinion it would not cure it - it would just prolong until the tumor reappeared again. The other option we have is to have the tumor removed again, when it comes back but his foot is tiny and to keep putting him through this is unfair. Right now he's fine, he's not suffering. You wouldn't even know he was sick, as a matter of fact he seems like a puppy, better the he's ever been so this is how we're going to leave him and when the time comes and we see differently then we'll do the right thing. The vet said we'd have about a year and we're just enjoying the time with him and spoiling as we've always done. I couldn't see putting him through Radiation at ten years old, having him so sick from it, just to prolong the time he has. Let him live and enjoy himself pain free for whatever time is left. Thanks again Redvette for you nice post. Elaine

I only had her about two weeks. I put my eight week old puppies in the room with the others and Neely started fighting them and when she did that, all the others started fighting her. i don't know if she meant to or was just rough. She was twice the size of my other little dogs, long bodied and long legged. i knew to protect my other dogs, I had to rehome herr. There just wasn't room. i made sure she had a good home. I didn't sell her to anyone on YT because I didn't trust them about breeding her and didn't think they would be good to her. So, yes, I did re-home Neely. people do make honset mistake. My reputation is built on being honest that's why so many people on here have my babies. As we talked last night, please place her in a 'pet only' home. because you have to wonder when people want her so badly for themselves that they have to attack another breeder.
I couldn't help but wonder why you didn't think anyone on YT would have been good to Neely?

it wasn't that I didn't think anyone on YT would be good to her. if you know me at all, you know ALL my babies have gone to YT members. it was that the ones that contacted me only wanted her for breeding and didn't even know anything abiout breeding. or was just getting started. i didn't want her in a kennel or bred at her first heat. or even end up ion a puppy mill. Also, just so you know , I turn down YT people every day as buyers for my puppies. Just because they are YT members doesn't qualify them for one of my babies. I am VERY selective where my dogs go as any good breeder should be. i hope this answers your question

Sure does answer my question. And I have only heard wonderful things about you on this forum, so I do know that you are selective. Good for you for finding the best homes for your pups. Now I hope that Holly finds the best forever home.

She's absolutely gorgeous and will make someone very happy. I'm so sorry that you have to rehome her. I would have loved to have her, had I not just gotten my new baby about a week ago.

Hello! We have had so many wonderful people email us! MinMuf1 and her 4 little furbabies live locally and sound like a wonderful home. We are setting up a time for Holly to meet her and her family to see how they do together! I spoke with her on the phone and her family seems wonderful. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks!

Default how sad

Oh, what a sad story! My husband got out of the Army almost 2 years ago. We were so scared that he'd get called back, or sent on another long tour of duty. Luckily for our pets, we were never sent to an overseas duty station. Instead we were at Fort Hood for almost 5 years!

We are still looking to add another furbaby to our home. Please let us know if you are able to find a home for your baby. I'll PM you more of our family information so that we can also be in the running if need be.

Best of luck!

Have you ever though about placing her in a Home for two years till you get back? I know I am a long ways away but If I were closer I would spoil her for two years for ya!!!!LOL Just a thought so you could have your baby back when you are done serving our country

Yes of course I have thought of that. But reality is that 2-3 years is such a long time. I really feel that after that amount of time she will be as used to her new home as her new home is in love with her. Too emotional on everyone's end. If it were for 6 months than I would definitely be exploring that option. We had tried talking to some family members about this. That way they could still see her when we got back etc. But my Grandparents are in poor health and do not feel like they can commit. And my mom has 2 dogs of her own as well as my in laws. But 2-3 years is just too long and not fair to Holly or her new family. Thanks for thinking of us!
