and ALL THE BEST TO HOLLY !! She really is a beautiful girl and I hope she finds a great new home and good luck to you too |
Hi Redvette. Thanks so much for your nice post. No, not much can be done for Newman. Originally, when he was operated on our vet said not to worry, that he thought he may have stepped on glass or had a splinter that lodged in the pad and caused inflamation. He told us that cancer in the foot pad is so rare that he wasn't concerned. A week later, our vet called and you could hear his voice breaking on the phone (We've been going to the same vet for 10 years) and he told me how sorry he was, that it turned out to be a tumor and that it was a stage III mass cell tumor. The option we had was Radiation Treatment, at a cost of about $5,000 and my husband and I would have went for that but the vet told us that in his opinion it would not cure it - it would just prolong until the tumor reappeared again. The other option we have is to have the tumor removed again, when it comes back but his foot is tiny and to keep putting him through this is unfair. Right now he's fine, he's not suffering. You wouldn't even know he was sick, as a matter of fact he seems like a puppy, better the he's ever been so this is how we're going to leave him and when the time comes and we see differently then we'll do the right thing. The vet said we'd have about a year and we're just enjoying the time with him and spoiling as we've always done. I couldn't see putting him through Radiation at ten years old, having him so sick from it, just to prolong the time he has. Let him live and enjoy himself pain free for whatever time is left. Thanks again Redvette for you nice post. Elaine |

Sure does answer my question. And I have only heard wonderful things about you on this forum, so I do know that you are selective. Good for you for finding the best homes for your pups. Now I hope that Holly finds the best forever home. :) |

She's absolutely gorgeous and will make someone very happy. I'm so sorry that you have to rehome her. I would have loved to have her, had I not just gotten my new baby about a week ago. |
She is sooo beautiful! Please let us know when she finds a forever home, it would be great if it is to a YT member :) If I ever had to rehome or sell my two they would def. go to a YT member, not that I am selling them, or could ever think of doing it  |

Hi Ashley: Just wondering if you and husband decided on a new home for Holly yet... |

how sad Oh, what a sad story! My husband got out of the Army almost 2 years ago. We were so scared that he'd get called back, or sent on another long tour of duty. Luckily for our pets, we were never sent to an overseas duty station. Instead we were at Fort Hood for almost 5 years! We are still looking to add another furbaby to our home. Please let us know if you are able to find a home for your baby. I'll PM you more of our family information so that we can also be in the running if need be. Best of luck! |
Have you ever though about placing her in a Home for two years till you get back? I know I am a long ways away but If I were closer I would spoil her for two years for ya!!!!LOL Just a thought so you could have your baby back when you are done serving our country |

Has she been placed yet? |
she is a beauty...i am sure someone will be able to offer her a wonderful home... |
I can't help but ask....did you find a home for her yet? I stopped "working" on my boyfriend when I thought you had, but I am happy to pick up the fight for my cause. |
We are going to meet the wonderful family who is interested in her HOPEFULLY tomorrow. They are about 2-3 hours away. But since I have my son who is almost 2...I am trying to wait until my husband and I both have the same day off of work. That way my son can stay with my husband while I go take Holly to meet them. My son is VERY well behaved with Holly, Lola, and Blitz in my home. But I just do not trust how he will be in a new environment with new doggies. I will keep everyone posted! Thanks for checking in! |
Any news? |
Has she found a home yet? |
Update On Holly!!!!! So sorry it took me so long to update. I had so many wonderful wonderful families who I talked to about my girls. However, today we got some surprising and WONDERFUL news. My husband has found a way to get our orders to Hawaii REPLACED for stabilization here in Virginia for another year! We will know 100% this evening. But if this is the case...by the time that the year is up we will then be put on orders in the states as the Hawaii slot will be filled. We were just HEARTBROKEN and so sad. But we have a little bit of hope now. We want to thank EVERYONE who offered such loving homes. I made a few great friendships through this and I hope to stay in touch. |
