Where can I find a chocolate one??? Yorkie of course!!! I think I am gonna get Roxi a brother or sister and I have absolutley fallen for yorkies!!! There is no other breed for me! So I have made it clear that our next puppy will be another YORKIE!!!! Now here is my dilemma... I never realized there were so many different colors of yorkies. I actually saw one that was labled "chocolate". It was sooooooooooooo pretty! I want one!!! Does anyone know where I can find one for sale? I also love the gold ones, blonde ones, red ones, and parti colors too. Heck, I think I just love all yorkies!!!!!!!! Roxi is a black/gold and I would love to have one of every different color.:):D :animal36 Thanks alot!!!!! |
I cant help you but I LOVE the chocolates too..... good luck! d |
When I was looking for a chocolate it was very hard to find because a lot of ppl overprice them but I saw a few on puppyfind.com. I got a female from there that was chocolate but now looks to be like a normal yorkie, she's just a darker brown. |
I love chocolate yorkies to but they are way overpriced. You may want to do a search on line and be careful of the scammers. |
I've heard somewhere that the chocolate ones don't meet the AKC standard for Yorkies. So it's kinda strange that people are charging more for them. Don't get me wrong, I love all the yorkies regardless of color. That's just something I heard. I'd really like a Biewer. They're so pretty!!:aimeeyork |
Do the chocolates have more health problems? |
I want one in every color too!!!!:D |

These colors are not the "norm" these colors are caused by a recessive gene. AKC does not recognize these colors as standard. Other members here will explain better than I can. And....some people jack the prices up calling them "rare" when in fact they are not...Just be careful. Good Luck in your search |

You are right...as other members will jump in here and tell you. People take advantage by jacking up the price selling them as rare...when in fact they are not! I too would love a biewer but, just couldn't afford one. |
There still is an awesome male biewer available on the for sale site. I have reason to believe she will negotiate with you for the right home. |
In any purebred breed, a colour(s) may occur that are considered wrong and undesirable. The Yorkie breed standard does not include chocolate, blonde or particolour. Any that occur are considered undesirable and incorrect for the breed. The Yorkie was never intended to be produced in 'many colours'. So, when and if a reputable breeder gets something in their litter that is so wrong colour such as chocolate, they are given to friends, family or sold for a much reduced price for pet only,spay/neuter. I would avoid breeders charging inflated prices for wrong colour calling them rare. You can go to the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website at www.ytca.org there is a tab there about wrong colour likely under frequently asked questions. |
Please don't shoot the messenger but here's a chocolate Yorkie for sale, www.wendysyorkies.com. Click on Yorkies and you will see new pictures of Punkin. |
Hi. I live in NJ and our local classified had two male chocolates for sale. The price they listed was $2,500.00. I'm not sure if they ship or how reputable this person is, but it's not a pet store. It is a private breeder pretty local to us. If you're interested, I'd be more than happy to look up the telephone number and send it to you. Elaine |

Using terms like "teacup" and Micro (?) teacup would make me run the other way.....HUGE RED FLAGS!!! Those poor little puppies in the last pic don't look right...poor little things. and the prices are ridiculous! |

I wouldn't buy anything from this breeder. I was looking for chocolate Yorkies, not for myself, and saw this was the most expensive and IMO the least attractive. |

HOLY schneikes!!! over $5000 for a nonstandard puppy???? |

I've looked at that site before. That same breeder sells Morkies for TWICE the amount she sells her full yorkies and maltese. Never could figure that one out. :p |

Dee can you tell me where to find it? |
I too just looked at this site, WOW, the price is REALLY high! Can you reg. with the akc the color Chocolate and Teacup? The way the site reads, "She is an akc reg. teacup chocolate and gold yorkie" makes the reader think thats how its reg.??? Does anyone know? |
You can't register it that way with AKC. I have an AKC application in front of me. The only colors listed on the application is: 018 Black & Tan 041 Blue & Gold 044 Blue & Tan 234 Black & Gold You can not register words such as tea cup or micro mini.....They are all a Yorkshire Terrier no matter their size. |
Teacup or tiny is a term breeders use to raise on small puppies. It has nothing to do with registering it, it is just a word, not a type of yorkie. You can register chocolate yorkies through AKC, but it is on a case to case basis. You have to have registration papers for the parents and then send in pictures of the chocolate yorkie you are registering. But they still are not allowed to be showed as of yet. |
This is only my opinion: The chocolate Yorkie is rare, only because it is not suppose to be like that. It is an over load of the red and brown color gene (something like that) But by no means is it suppose to be like that. It is like a red yorkie, rare but not a correct yorkie (at least not yet) |

Me either! Something tells me......PUPPYMILL! |
i went to that site to check out the chocolate just too see the price and what she advertised it as. I was shocked that her would sell a puppy for that much money, let alone a non standard puppy. AND she used the word teacup. well i couldn't believe what i saw so i emailed her a note so nice letter. LOL i couldn't help myself. |
