We have to have send in the same information to register out of County Show Dogs, Canadian etc. Interesting what is being done with colors. Thanks, and good luck in finding your baby, Mizz, Hope it works out!! :D |

No, I didn't need to send in DNA, althougth they have that in their records regarding the father. I was shocked that they would register her. It only mattered to me that her littermate sisters were able to be registered and I thought she should've been too...LOL I, personally would never breed for this color and didn't want Izzie to be bred by someone else, not only because of her color, but her size. I am so grateful to God that Izzie is with the family she is. She is soooo loved!! :) |
I can't remember which site it was, but once while searching for yorkies I saw a couple of chocolate yorkies(male and female) that were going to have a litter. Keep looking and good luck in your search :) |
Thank you! A lady and I are emailing each other back and forth about one that she has, so I will let you know what happens... |

It is only a matter of time before the other colors are accepted. Parti's were never registered and now they are able to be akc registered just as chocolates are. Before long, they will have a standard set for these colors. If they are no health problems associated with these colors, which there are no health problems with them, the color posses no health risks, so why not have them?? It is just like the size of the yorkie. They use to be alot bigger and then people bred them smaller, which at that time was not the standard. The standard changed in size and I really believe the colors will too. I don't believe they will accept every color, but I do believe the will add a few of these colors to the standard, it is just a matter of time. JMO |
look at this cute one but then look at the outrageous price :2omg: http://www.puppyfind.com/view_listin...2526page%253D4 |
What a beautiful yorkie, I really like the choc ones... I think the $3500 price tag is because of the combination of color & size. If she was a 5lb, and I had a 3-4 grand just laying around... |

I notice people call Dark Gold, Red. Now AKC recognizes Gold, Blue, Black and Tan |

I read Registered but, Registered with AKC?? AKC only has 4 different color pairs, none Chocolate. Is your dog AKC or CKC registered???? |
http://members.aol.com/CYorkie/Genet...Chocolate.html akc won't reg a chocolate yorkie unless it's marked a diff colour like the black & gold or blue & gold or black & tan "i think" |

she was 1lb 9 oz at 6 weeks well mine turned out to be 9lbs she's a bigger girl but they were $500 i didn't know anything about yorkies before i bought her though and didn't know anything about chocolates or sizes but my princess has turned out beautiful she's the long haired one on my avatar . |
Yes, AKC does register chocolate yorkies. You have to still have the registration number plus you have to send in photos and they are registered on a case to case basis. |

Izzie is AKC registered. Like I said in an earlier post...I had to send in front, side and back pictures of her with the registration application. I didn't know if they would register her or not. I just did what they told me to do. A few weeks later, her registration came in the mail. I could have very easily lied on the application and said she was one of the colors listed, but I don't do that. On her registration paper it says chocolate/tan. |

Wrong!!! Check my posts. They did register a chocolate I had. She now belongs to the parents of TLC here on YT. |

This is quoted from the YTCA site: http://www.ytca.org/faq.html#B An Important Note About Color in Yorkshire Terriers . The most distinctive characteristic of an adult Yorkshire Terrier is its long blue and tan silk coat. A puppy is born black and tan, but the only recognized colors for adults when registering with AKC are blue and gold, blue and tan, black and gold, or black and tan. . The AKC Breed Standard and YTCA Code of Ethics do not recognize any other color dogs than noted above. This includes all gold, born blue, liver (also known as red or chocolate), and parti-colors. One of the reasons for avoiding breeding "off-colored" Yorkies is because it could be a genetic defect that may affect the dog's health. Some health problems can include, but aren't limited to, severe skin problems, allergies, total hair loss and in some cases long-term illness and/or death. . A responsible breeder will not intentionally breed for undesirable traits. On very rare occasions, a breeder will have a puppy born with a color anomaly. That puppy should undergo careful health screenings before being placed in a spay/neuter (non-breeding) home. A breeder should certainly never promote these deviations as being desirable or rare. . There are many issues that potential Yorkie owners need to study before purchasing their dog. We hope you will read the helpful information at this website and make an informed decision. It could very possibly save you aggravation, disappointment and expense. We wish you the best of luck in your pursuit of a happy, healthyYorkshire Terrier. " This, along with only 4 color combination codes listed on the AKC site are what led me to believe the AKC only registered the Blue/Black/Gold/Tan combinations. If they are making exceptions now, it would be interesting to know how they determine when and how to make them. Are any and all color combinations accepted? I am just curious. |

Please check out this web site and judge for yourself. http://hometown.aol.com/tinytownyorkies/Welcome.html I don't mean to be rude...but please, Wanda of TinyTownYorkies...do not email me again concerning any of my litters . I am very, very, picky where my puppies go. I DO NOT breed for the chocolate color. I had one in a litter of 5 and I'm taking steps so that this doesn't happen in one of my litters again. The chocolate I did have was spayed before going to her forever home and was sold for less than my other puppies....way less than what you are advertising for. My priority is the health and love my puppies will recieve in their forever home....not the money. I do wish you the best, but encourage you to rethink your objective in breeding. |
2- Chocolate!! A very Tiny Micro Tea Cup She weighs 19oz at 12 weeks others from this litter are sold Her price will be $4800. She will be 2 1/2-3 lbs grown Guranteed not over 3 lbs grown! She is Pre-spoiled! She rides in a little purse the most part of the day! Already Potty Trained! Pictures coming soon! that price is really high but personally if i had the money myself i would not put a limit on what i would spend on a yorkie! hubby he's a bit stingy though! mizwanned are you wanting a chocolate just to breed? |
