Looking for any yorkie in los angeles, or ca [F]You do not know how bad i want a yorkie, and for how long i have been wanting one. You might be asking how come i dont just buy one already, but see thats the thing, i dont got money, i just started college as a freshmen, and at the time my parents pay for everything, so my books and tuition are all taken care of, this is why i can only afford 100-300 but the thing is that i have tried buying one but all of these sellers are in "AFRICA" and i dont get convinced so, and then adoption, but it would be to difficult because theres a long list of people waiting for puppies, and i wouldnt get a chance if im all at the end of the line. I have tried it all petfinder.com craigslist.org puppyfind.com petfo.com yahoo.com EVERYTHING:confused: Name a site, i have already been there probably, and sometimes all these places where they say to donate or deposit 200 -300 dollars for one, i have been lied to and scammer warning everywhere that now its hard to believe what and who is really meaning what they say, and who is really in fact being honest behind their computer. I came and joined this site as a last resort to try and see if through here i can find someone who is more than willing and happy to give me a yorkie either for free or less than 300, i know it sounds crazy but i mean, i would take care of it with my life, there is nothing to worry about, i live in a house, .7 acres, its a huge backyard, i got 2 little brothers, a 2 year old sis shes going to be 3 09/20 and i would like to see her happy as well as see a little doggy running around my house if there is any one out there that can offer me something a puppy, or a dog does not matter if registered, or not, if spayed, nor the sex of the pup, nor if its dewormed or none of that, all i want is a puppy between weeks and 1 year please if any one has information, if you will be having a puppies soon, if your yorkie is going to be having puppies soon, or just have an extra pup to give away please notify me soon, if in southern california, i would be able to pick it up no worries about that. Thank you all for your time, if you need to get to me directly please email me at heyisisis@sbcglobal.net or on aim - itsmeehisis thanks! -isis |
Isis, keep in mind that having a dog is very expensive. The monthly flea treatment, vet bills, food, spay/neuter, products, training, etc etc. I'd hold off until you have some $ in your bank account to pay for all this. |

well thats not a problem my parents can take care of that its just the price of the dog that they dont like, plus i have had previous dogs before, bigger dogs, actually like 4, it wouldnt be a problem |
Welcome to YT! Please do not buy a dog from someone in Africa. That is a SCAM!!! I hope you find your baby real soon. You will have one when the time is right. |

I agree with sassypup. Yes you are saying that your parents can take care of the expenses and yes a yorkie can cost you some money but vet bills and other needs that it will need will be much much more than the cost of the puppy. Believe me...I have 2 which are 5 & 6 months old and my boy has been with me for 4 months and my girl for 3 months and between vets, meds and them getting sick...I've spent more than $3,000 in 4 months. Just last month I had to take Timmy to the vet and he needed an x-ray...cost me a little over $200.00 and when I first got him he got really sick where I thought I was going to lose him and he had to be put on IV's and that was more money out my pocket. So please keep that in mind....its so much more than just love.. they are just like us and have needs I think even more than us... If your parents are willing to spend the money.... then I'd say go for it. Again...good luck! |

i understand all of that, but i mean all i just want is a puppy thats all it is, |

Please watch those scammers..they are good and what a shame that people lose their money to them. Welcome to YT and I hope you find the right puppy for you!! Dawn |
Grrr man have yorkies always been so expensive or what? im really courious have they? |
Yorkies are expensive because they have so few puppies in a litter, it is expensive to raise a litter, the cost to start breeding is very high....the list goes on. Most breeders do not break even. I have two little pet yorkies and they are expensive month to month. If the cost of a yorkie scares your parents, vet care would send them running. Spay/neuter surgery is pricey, what about dental care? Some yorkies require this yearly. Flea/tick/heartworm is pricey...what if you get a yorkie for free and then you run into medical problems? You could be looking at the heartbreak of a dead pup or thousands in vet bills. My husband and I have an emergency fund JUST for vet bills, and it is a couple of thousand dollars...yorkies are dear little things...key word little! Reggie once jumped off the couch and dislocated his shoulder...$600 later...$200 later...for x-rays, meds, emerg vet bill, gas... The sad reality is proper care for a dog is expensive and a small delicate dog is even more expensive to give them a good quality life. You could get lucky...get a free yorkie and have 0 problems but what if???? I am too looking for another yorkie, but I am looking for show quality, so I am doing TONS of research, saving more money for the emerg vet fun and then I need to save thousands to buy the yorkie, I am looking at a year minimum. Sorry to burst your bubble, but good luck. But just think! In a few years you will graduate, get a great job and be able to afford a good quality yorkie and provide a great life for it!!! The time will go by quickly, study hard, get a job and read as much as you can on yorkie's and then you will be all set!! |
Have you even thought about a yorkie mix? There seem to be alot in rescue groups. Dawn |

Ive seen plenty of rescue dogs right here on YT that are beautiful. Maybe just wait it out or save some more money to get the one you want. Our local shelter has a list your name can go on so if a Yorkie comes into the shelter you have first chance at adopting...I did that years ago for my springer spaniel. Within about 6 months they called me and I had a wonderful companion!! Dawn |
Four years seems like a long time but if you wait ill you are more financially secure it will be soooo worth the wait to get a good quality yorkie!! |
well good luck and to everyone else it seems like this person wants a small dog cause its kinda the trend with celebs thats how i got my lab my husband works with a man who has a girls she said she wanted a dog well her dad gets her a lab she says no she wantsa dog you can put in your purse so the lab gets put out side 24/7 and he goes and buys her a pom so she now has her purse dog a lot of young people want dogs just to look cute anyway long story short we now have the lab cause he was giving her away and i want a small dog to but im doing my reading on breeds and joining forums and groups |

Isis, good luck finding your future pet. You might want to look into other breeds or wait a little bit longer. I myself have waited 3 years for the right one and am still in the search ;) |
Ummm NO! Quote:
You should watch your mouth before trying to put words in my mouth which i did not say, in fact thats far from the reason why i want a yorkie. Firstly i love big dogs, i had my dog a terrier pitt mix for well over 8 years, she passed away, but not without giving me 3 diffrent litters. I kept 2 of last pups she had, and one from a previous litter she had. I LOVED THESE DOGS TO DEATH, she had came into my life on accident, i didnt go looking for her, but even though i had her since she was maybe 9-10 months i loved her, and took her into my family. Well either way i had 3 dogs about two months ago, but suddenly my neighbors complained that they were very hyper, and that they barked tooo much, and that they seemed as a threath, so they called the pound complained, next thing i know i get home to finding nothing waiting for me when i get home from school... YOU KNOW HOW THAT FEELS, TO COME HOME EXPECTING TO SEE THE DOGS THAT TAKE CARE OF YOU WHILE YOU ARE SLEEPING CONFORTABLY IN YOUR BED..... and the sad thing is i didnt get to say bye. Since my neighbors complained i didnt want to get another big dog that i had to keep outside, that would run the same luck as the other pups, so i decided to get a yorkie after i saw my moms boss MONIQUE LHUILLIER (LOOK IT UP) having one, she had had it for a long time, and plus i met a lady in the park that told me and introduced me to the breed, IT WAS NEVER INTENDED OR LETS SAY I NEVER INTENDED TO GET ONE BECAUSE SO AND SO HAS IT, ACTUALLY IM NOT MOVED BY CELEBRITIES, SO lets get our facts right! |

thanks!! yeah you see the thoughts on peoples head, gosh know nothing about people and there they go... any way man i hope you get your baby soon, its though man i berly started and im tired, i hope you dont give up, i wont either, loves you take care thanks for sharing:) |
isis, I also joined yorkietalk as a last resort, but my luck hasn't changed. I understand how you feel because some of the prices are overly expenisve(yes the dogs are expensive because of vet bills, few in a litter, upkeep etc. but some prices are outrageous $3,000-4,000) even 8,000) I really like the dogs having seen them with people and I think owning a small dog would be nice as I am an indoor type of person. I still am looking for rescues but I never get picked. I have been looking for 2 years so far and slowed my search down because I am very discouraged. A lot of people here are friendly and give you info on dogs but there are some rude people as well (but thats how the world in general is). Hopefully you may have better luck than I do.:aimeeyork |
i was not trying to be rude i said what i did for the fact that it seems to be a trend for young people im sorry for saying what i did but thats how it seemed to me when i was reading the e mail so im sorry |

I have a yorkie mix and he is not ugly. a lot of mixes that i have seen on this forum are not ugly nor big. you can see for yourself. http://www.dogster.com/?119708 even when he has a bad hair day he's still cute http://www.yorkiegirl.com/oreo.JPG http://www.yorkiegirl.com/oreo7.JPG not to mention, when he and my yorkie Ginger had a litter together.. their puppies were not ugly, nor were they "big".. http://www.yorkiegirl.com/mocha1.JPG http://www.yorkiegirl.com/mocha2.JPG http://www.yorkiegirl.com/mochaa3.JPG So i find it interesting you say yorkie mixes are.. ugly.. yorkies in general are not ugly in my opinion  |

Good Luck! |
From my personal experience, I also suggest you to wait a little longer (preferably after you graduate from college) At least that's what I did. I've always wanted a yorkie, but I knew that I couldn't give the love & care one needs. College is totally different from high school. You go to college to prepare for a furture career, which means you have to devote tons of time to school, interns, honor programs, & etc. I just got my baby girl that I've always dreamed of this August after I graduated from college & got a desirable job offer this June. I now have enough money & time to devote to taking care of my yorkie baby If you can wait, it will be the best option for not only you, but also for your yorkie. :) |
Keep in mind some yorkies (not all) can be barkers and if your neighbours complained about your big ones barking they will complain about a yorkie barking. And by they way if someone came and took my dogs I would fight heaven and earth to get them back.Did you try and get them back? |
ok well check this out i figure like this....as long as you cant take care of your yorkie...(you or your parents) then get you a yorkie...just be careful...cause before i just wanted one had them money also..just didnt how much hard work it is...so good luck on ur search!!!! |
Been in your shoes before Hi Isis, I wanted a yorkie ever since i was a freshmen at UCLA. I understand what you're going through, but now that I have graduated this past June, gotten a steady job with a steady income, and bought my Peanut, I highly recommend you to wait. Although you say your parents will help you out in taking care of your yorkie, vet expenses, etc; the fact that you cannot afford a yorkie over 300 dollars shows you're not quite ready for it. I used to hope for a cheaper yorkie back then too, but then as i researched more and more i kept increasing the amount that i would willingly spend. haha. from thinking i wanted a yorkie at 500, to 700, then to 1,000, and finally buying one for 1,800!! hahah. Also, because you are a freshman in college, you cant really grasp the full extent of how busy you will be with classes, tests, extracurricular activies, sororitys, etc. I spend a lot of time on Peanut, and I can't even imagine how I would have survived with him had I gotten him before graduating. Oh and another thing, you have no idea yet how satisfying it is to actually purchase your own yorkie with no financial help from the parentals : ) i mean, obviously i'd have loved to take some money from my parents, and they probably would have offered too; but i like to think of Peanut as my personal responsibility. all food, vet expense, toys, etc, I fork out myself, hmmm although my parents and siblings get the benefit of getting to play with a puppy under the roof (so not fair hahaha) :p Take care! Peggy |
What would happen if the Yorkie you get is hyper (they usually are :)) and barks too just like your other pups? I'd hate to see him/her get taken away as well? That would be so horrible. Good Luck in your search. |
