Misty, (Bamafan) I'm not going to play your game. Take it to the other place you have for that. I stated what I thought. I don't think this person was given a fair chance. She is from another country. She had no clue how people on this board were going to react to her first posts. Which were not nice in MY OPINION. If you find me to be contradictory please ELABORATE. Again, best wishes to all on this subject. |

I only said contradictory because: you stated you wouldn't sell to her, neither would I...I questioned if she was serious, you showed your doubts as well...therefore, seems like we agreed on that. Therefore I said I thought we weren't so different in our opinions, just the way they were stated...but you came back and said...well, whatever,:angel2dl: I'll move on. I think the sight of this original issue has long since been lost and I'm afraid this may have turned into some personal issue you have with me. It is ashame, really. Sleep tight Robbie. |

Personal issue? Heck girl they're flying high all over this world wide web! YOU are not an issue with me. LOL! No Bama, I wouldn't sell to her or anyone that I had JUST met on a public forum. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't lend a helping hand and TRY to get to know the person and what exactly it is they are striving for. The game is seen over and over here. Attacks on anything from worming to placing pups. It's not pretty. I love yt, but I do have other places that I freqeunt that do not have this kind attitude towards new people. Yep! No shame here. sleep tight and best wishes. I hope the original "issue" with this lady doesn't get lost. She asked a question. She is from another country, she obvisoulsy doesn't understand our way of things here. I hope she prospers and this wasn't all for the sake of some's arguement. |

If the purpose of getting a Yorkie is just to breed, you won't find a reputable breeder interested in helping you do that. If your purpose is to immerse yourself in the breed, show your dogs and be willing to participate, win lose or draw in the rings, then reputable breeders will rally with you. Of course, there are exceptions, show breeders with just plain old bad attitudes, some are reluctant because they were burned by someone they should not have trusted, but there ar ethose that you can convince to help you but it will on their terms not yours. After all, it is their work you are trying to get a little piece of. When I started out, I also had to convince reputable breeders that allowed me to use their stud dogs, that I would protect their lines now carried by my puppies, with my life. That means that no puppies were ever sold that could be bred by unscrupulous breeders, puppymills, or indeed, people just breeding their pets to produce Yorkies with not much thought given to what the breed is supposed to look like. None of my boys are available for public stud either. That means that stud services are not available unless you have an approved bitch and you are an approved breeder. It protects my kennel name as well as the kennel names in my pedigrees that I am building my lines with. I do not want breeders selling puppies advertising the puppies are from champion lines when it was my blood sweat and tears that put the championships on those dogs while all the seller did was breed some dogs and knows about little else involved and certainly would have no idea what a good show dog would look like anyway. Any and all puppies I ever have for sale for pet have many champions in their line, if they didn't they would not have been produced. |

I only hope that people who don't make themeselve's as clear won't get the same "treatment" in the future as one post in paticular was towards them. PM sent. :) |

Robbie... actually you DO sell on public forums and ship your puppies to people you've just met online ....which is fine -- but I think most of the unfavorable comments stem from shipping overseas to unknown persons....With the many MANY internet scams especially involving Nigeria - Africa etc. it's easy to see why someone would be leery of this whole thread. It just happens that some people post what they REALLY think and others don't - because I can't believe anyone who read the thread thought - "Wow -This sounds cool - I'll have to contact that person & maybe sell some puppies to Africa" ! Am I wrong here or did you think like everyone else did - "what is up with this ?" even worse...like me trying to give her the benefit of the doubt thinking "Are there NO yorkies in South Africa"? |
Hi Villette, The puppies I have shipped in the past were not to people that I met on a forum of any kind and I got to know them for months and months prior. I met a friend from Florida once at the airport who I had known for a year prior. Just like the person who shipped my puppy to me did. We got to know one another and formed a friendship and trust a very long time before a puppy was available to me or any airplanes became involved. I have never placed a puppy for sale on a forum ad. I do not ship my puppies to people I've JUST met online. That statement is untrue. I have had folks to express an interest to me because of course people who know me know that I may or may not have puppies available from time to time. I have met two people on forums who now have my puppies. They came to my home and we met one another. We are very close friends to this day. I've never shipped a puppy to anyone I JUST met online. There have been "issues" in the past that have made me re-think the entire shipping thing all together. I do not know how much longer it will even be an option for my babies unless it is to a close friend. It really bothers me that people think they know exactly what I do when they have no clue. I don't even know why I feel the need to explain myself or how my practices have anything to do with the fact that the person in SA was not given a nice welcoming. |
Robbie...I don't know anything about your breeding practices - you offer shipping - it was just an observation. That comment had nothing to do with my actual post which was more about shipping to foreign countries and the fact that we see so many scammers out there now - I'm NOT saying the Original poster is a scammer - but it was easy to see why people questioned it. I meant you no offense nor her. |
