We often hear about red leg Yorkies, but I've never found any information on them. What exactly does that mean? What size are her parents? Have you run any health tests on her? |
1 Attachment(s) A red leg is a genetic mutation causing the puppy to have black coat, and reddish gold, and lighter coat than other yorkies. There are no known health problems. Long time show breeders have used red legs in their breeding programs to keep the color true. Her parents were 5.5 and 6.5 lbs, both normal steel blue/gold. She has had bile acid testing, which is fine, and is perfectly healthy. Just small. My first red leg in 18 years, so did a lot of research. |
How much is she? |
The little girl in the picture above? She is 700. She is 14 weeks now, and is 1 lb 4 ounces. |
3 Attachment(s) Figgy, 6 month old female pic for Joy |

Sorry, was responding to a human named Joy. :) Figgy is the puppy above, yes she is for sale, 1000. She is 6 months and 2.5 lbs. I also have a 2 year old girl named Joy who is needing a home. She is housebroken and very sweet, she belonged to my Mother who recently passed away. She is overwhelmed now that she is having to share her attention. Joy is a beautiful girl. |
Do you have a pic what is her weight |
Are red leg Yorkies capable of obtaining a full length coat? |

1 Attachment(s) This is Joy, she is an absolute love. She has been heartbroken since losing her human mother. Joy has been bred once, but she needs to go to a pet home/spayed as she has an underbite. It doesn't interfere with her eating or appearance, but is not correct. She is 5 lbs. She loves everyone, walks on a leash and harness as long as you care to walk her, and is totally housebroken. She is also totally spoiled rotten. Pardon the bad hair day. She can grow coat to the ground, has a bit of wave to it, but is cut down now. Her color is good, and coat is silk. |
Joy is beautiful how much are you asking for her |
Thank you, Joy is from 4 generations of my breeding, and I think she is a very nice girl too. She is very special to me as she was my mother's. They are all very special to me. It is difficult to part with any of them, but I am reaching a point in my life where I realize I have gone to the dogs now for 18 years of my life, and I am finding no time to have any other life. Each of these kids are little individuals, very loved, and for that reason, they all deserve wonderful homes so I can focus my time on ones that must remain with me forever, my family and give all of the things in my life the attention they need. There is a total of 8 adults I am placing, and the pups, each are priced differently and for that reason, if anyone is sincerely interested in offering them homes, I'd love for you to email or call me, and we can discuss them individually. All of the adults are from 2 to 6 years old and range in price from 500-1200. I will have to work on getting recent pictures of everyone. |
hello. the 5 month old male how big do you think his adult weight will be? also is that a pic of him in your first pics? also have the 6 month old female and the 5 month old male had the bile acid tests done also? thanks kelly |
The 5 month old male, Dragon should get no more than 4.5 lbs, he is very boxy and has a pretty head and nice coat. They have already been bile acid tested, and numbers are great. I bile acid all of my dogs starting around 10-12 weeks. No he isn't in one of the pictures, but I can try to get one for you if you are interested. |
yes i would love to see pictures of him and the 6month old female. how is he around other animals or children? thanks kelly |

My Vet recommended 6 months or more of age. You get more true results except perhaps in severe liver problems as I understand it, because the liver has more time to have to work on its own 6 or 7 months after being born rather than a short period of time. |
The first test I do is a urine bile acid test at betwen 10-12 weeks. If that comes back okay, then we don't re-test. If it is questionable, then I retest with a blood serum bile acid test at least a month later. Our fasting is for 10 hours, and I have never had one get hypoglycemic. They are allowed to have water. They are into the vet the minute they wake up in the morning, and are fed right after their blood draw. I am right outside of Knoxville, TN and my veterinarian is good friends with Dr. Karen Tobias, and stays current on bile acid testing and any new breakthroughs in the disease or testing protocals. She and He agree that this is a good method of testing puppies. If you wait until 6 or 7 months to bile acid test puppies, they may already be suffering the effects of PSS or MVD. That is not a risk I am willing to take, or pass on to anyone else. All of my adults who are the parents of these puppies are also tested and clear. Karen |
What is the description and price of the first Yorkie pictured? |

http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-...id_testing.htm I find it amazing that even in my small town, some vets do procedures that other vets have never heard of. |
Prissy I'll get you official information on the Urine BA here is what I can tell you myself - There is no fasting, it can be done anytime of the day, a fresh urine catch is required, it is sent off to a lab (here it goes to Univeristy of TN) and has a much smaller range of good/bad. The Urine BA doesn't tell you as indefinately if there is a shunt, it tells you no shunt, or you have a problem, either MVD or shunt, which you have to retest with a fasting blood serum test. You don't HAVE to wait, since blood isn't drawn, you can re-test immediately. I'll see what other information I can get together for you. |
