Looking for a baby in NJ/NY/PA Hi, everyone. I am new to the board; while reading through some of these threads I was very happy to see that the forum is quite active and everyone is so helpful. Well, in any case. I've been on the search for a yorkie for about 2 years now, and I just haven't been able to find something I like. Money is not so much an issue as the quality of the dog. I mean, since I am from the tri state area I see poorly bred yorkies going for thousands of dollars. It's totally unjustified. I am willing to spend up to around $900, give or take a few depending on the actual puppy. I'm from NJ but also willing to travel .. maybe up to the CT area and down by MD. Thank you so much in advance! |
I would look up Sylvan on the member list and pm her. She is one of the best breeders on here. She is in PA. |
Chachi I was just about to write the same thing! I love Sylvan! As a matter of fact I am going there tomorrow to visit Oliver! |
Thank you for the compliments. You are all welcome to visit anytime....bring chocolate, lol. |
You recommend Sylvan as a good breeder then why did she let you take your yorkie "Chachi" home at only 6 1/2 weeks. If you do any research on the subject by reading books and visiting reputable websites they all will tell you a puppy should not be sent to a new home until at least 12 weeks of age. That is one of the signs of a good breeder.l |

just for the record.....Chachi is not one of my pups and I have never, nor would ever release a pup at 6 1/2 weeks. 12 weeks is the norm for my pups though I have released at 10 1/2 to people who had a week off from work to spend time adjusting the pup to their home and have kept others much longer than 12 for various reasons. Your concern in this matter is appreciated since I hope we can educate other breeders to do likewise for the welfare of the pups. |
I didnt get Chachi from Sylvan I got him form a byb. If Syllvan were closer to me that is who I would get my next pup from. I dont know who you are but I usually dont share that info about Chachi so I dont know how you knew anyway |

New people don't know me from Adam, so it was just a mistake. |
you know what I would say about sylvan yorkies.... i hear "ya ya enough" so I will be quiet this time :) :) :) |
Sorry Sylvan Sorry, I was under the impression that when Chachi recommended you as a breeder, it was because she purchase her yorkie from you and was speaking from her own experience. Since Chachi's dogstar web pages stated that she received her own dog at 6-1/2 weeks I was shocked. As you mentioned, 12 weeks is the norm. I send out my sincere apology to you. I just love the breed so much that I worry about someone selling their puppies at such a young age. Your response was wonderful, you could have gotten very nasty about my mistake, but you did not. Once again, sorry. |
no problem...it's all good. We're neighbors! |
here's a cute rescue. only 3yrs old. http://www.yorkiesinc.com/AvailableYorkies.htm |
topknotchyorkies.com has adorable yorkies in nj. many yt'ers recommend her. |
No need to apologize Quote:
You do not need to apologize, and we all need to realize we are all here to help....not to chastize someone for asking a question....however it was written. Unless anyone in here walks on water...... and I can only think of one person who does that.....then we are all novices at this Yorkie stuff....remember......how responses are written can sometimes be hurtful, when it was not meant to be. I was surprised at some of the reponses early on.....and would not blame you if you were apprenhensive to come visit again...... As you can tell Laurie, we all respect Sylvan a lot.... No need to ever apologize......your a "newbie" and you are entitled to mistakes..... |

Oh, and being a teacher has nothing to do with what I do outside of the classroom. If I can recall correctly, that's none of you're business. Ooh, I like that your in Jersey. Interesting... And for your info again...English begins with a capital "E." Hope your not one either! PS. Write back what you will, this teacher is done with you. |
Maybe she'll find my mistake...ooh let's see. |

I call time out....everybody take two steps back and then start over. Hurling insults doesn\'t help educate anybody and I think you guys are actually on the same team and both are MOST concerned about the welfare of the breed. now, shake hands :friendsh: |
