I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! I wish you luck in your search! I don't know of any blondes for you. I have actually never seen one in person. But all the pictures I've seen I thought they were gorgeous! :) |
Hi and welcome to YT. I would love to see pictures of your Honey. I own a "gold and white" parti-colored yorkie. Her name is Princess Chai. :) |
Hi I don't know your price range but this breeder seems to have sold alot of gold yorkies I came across her site while searching terrific pets here is her site. http://www.pet-puppystork.com/pages/783714/index.htm Welcome to YT and sorry for your loss. |
Oh my, I think Sparkle is our very own Chai owned by Kim (Socal). Very neat! |

She was honest about Chai who had an inquinal hernia and she refused to let her go until she reached 2 lbs which was a 15 weeks. I feel she is one of the best. |
Kim that's just what I needed to know - a fellow Texan breeder for me to find out about. Man would I like to travel to see her. She has the cutest babies and I am such an animal lover. Remind me to not look at her website anymore as the temptation my be too great. Shoot I have been making Cricket the cutest little dresses and been having so much fun with her. She is the love of my life. Seriously, I have enough going on with Cricket right now as she has me worried sick. (see sick thread) But down the road Cricket might need a little sister or brother. :yorkiesar |
Wow were those expensive....wow. FIVE thousand dollars for an off color yorkie ? Cute yes....but I just paid that for a car not too long ago. :) |
I just looked at that breeders website the whole thing bothered me - THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION....but what bothered me was her saying Ethical breeders use the terms Teacup (it's used all over that site)....not so. She also states that Ethical Breeders breed for Tiny - not so. Also...There are Multiple Breeds being sold.....usually a Red Flag for most people. The other thing I wondered about was a few of the "Yorkies" didn't look like yorkies at all ? Are they mixed by any chance ? and again ....FIVE GRAND ? wow |
Willie123...I meant to say also that I'm very sorry about your Honey....that had to be just devestating. :( |

My thoughts exactly. I thought they were mixed breeds because I thought that these color yorkies only happen some of the time. I have seen yorkie mixes that look 100% all yorkie. :) |

If it didn't say that they were yorkies I dont think that I would have ever known that they were yorkies they just look different to me, they are cute of course but they just dont look like yorkies to me. |
I think they have different categorizations for dogs as far as their size is concerned: Teacup Canine-unusually tiny breed of dog (Um, don't you think 'unusually' should tell ya something...) Toy Canine-small bredd of dog or as in poodles 10 inches or under Miniature Canine-such as schnauzers, 14 inches and under Standard Canine-medium or average size dog Giant Canine-largest of breed Lord, I can just hear the anouncer for the next AKC show, "Yes, and next up, we have our Giant Canine Group..." |

I'm not understanding what she's charging $5,000 for?? |
Hmmm well i know some of you have recommended www.seasideyorkies.com and she sells teacups. I guess I dont understand the logic here. I came here to look for another yorkie but it seems everytime metions a breeder or wanting a smaller yorkie or a different yorkie they get slammed with rudeness Im oughtta here you guys are to judgemental. Ill find a yorkie on my own with out the help of a forum. |

I am also sorry that the thread that you started in your pain has turned into a cat fight. Please ignore this. Keep searching. I am hoping that others here will help you, as you requested. If this thread gets locked (which it probably will) please start another for your original request. Hopefully that thread will remain unharmed by the interpersonal posts that have occurred here. Good luck, Pam! |
I wish you the best of luck in your search too ..... |
Just incase anyone goes hhhmmmmm?? Quote:
Pam, have you done a search for "gold or red yorkies" on the internet? Just be careful with that, and do your homework. Ask opinions here of any breeder you may run across. People will help you! Again, good luck! |
I am so sorry for your loss. I have seen some yorkies like this, but none in person. Oh they are so pretty though. Good Luck. Keep us posted |
WELL..I have blond fur babies but their labs....LOL..Does that count????? You can have one!! :D :D :D :D |

I know for a fact that Ruthie Freeman is an ethical and caring breeder. Please know that most of the members here are not rude and do not bash breeders like this. Please do not let a few bad applies ruin the pie. Stick around and be part of the Positive Crowd...overall, YT is a very friendly place. :) I hope Ruthie can help ypu find your dream baby!! |
I feel I should clarify my post...What someone terms as bashing can also be looked at as "educating" ....In no way in my earlier post did I bash a breeder or intend to sound rude. I wish I knew the things I now know about buying a yorkie back when I was looking for my oldest Chanel - I wouldn't trade her for the world but I now know she came from a pretty bad breeder and when we post in these threads - it's to HELP the next person looking for a good breeder and sometimes sharing what we know can really help someone. I did state that that most Ethical Breeders don't use the word Teacup...which is true. Even the breeder I got my own Chanel from started using the word Teacup and more than doubled her prices because of it..... I guess it's all in how much you trust the breeder that counts... but many times the word Teacup is used to charge higher prices and the prices of yorkies are skyrocketing because of the Tiny Dog Fad... I just wanted to say that because after 3 years of watching prices of yorkies on the net - they have doubled and tripled in price lately... and many of the higher prices are coming from the use of the Word "Teacup" I mean no offense here - it's an opinion and I'm only posting to help someone in their search for a new yorkie. We ALL want great yorkies at a FAIR price and for someone new to the Yorkie world - they may not know what commands thousands of dollars vs the average price. |
Yorkies have gone up in price due to the demand for them. A lot of people have recognized this wonderful breed for all of it's fabulous qualities that we are all aware of and so they are in demand, hard to come by, and worth the prices being charged. The answer is economics 101 really. Everyone here knows how hard it is to find a good quality yorkie for any price. It is a fact that the smaller than average yorkies, sometimes referred to as tinies, dwarf, mini, teacups or T-cups, are even more expensive because they are so small at birth that they require extra time and attention on the part of the breeder and the breeders have to keep them longer thereby incurring additonal expenses that are not there for a standard sized yorkie. I applaud those breeders who take the extra time with these tiny ones to help them to thrive rather than "letting nature take it's course". These little guys are treasures as all yorkies are and deserve a great start in life despite their diminuitive size. They deserve to be compensated for 24/7 around the clock care for 6 weeks or more that is required. I personally have no probelm with the cost of tinies or T-cup yorkies.....they are worth every penny. :) |
I really think some members are overly sensitive about the use of the word teacup. It's just a marketing term. Is it really that important to bash every breeder that slips that word into their website? There are quite a few things that might set off warning bells if I was looking for a new puppy but the word teacup really isn't one of them. One thing I have learned in my few months of reading this forum is good breeders spend a ton of money and time on their litters. They should be fairly compensated. If using the term teacup helps them get a fair price then whatever! I have to agree that $5000 is a lot for a puppy and would never pay that myself. But there are lots of people who will. Basically if I see the word teacup it just means that the breeder thinks this will be a smaller yorkie. Would everyone be more comfortable it someone advertises "smaller than average yorkie puppies" Not very catchy and not very good marketing. Kinda getting a little tired of the "teacup" argument. |
