| 11 Week Old Charlie Needs the Perfect Home My landlady has surprised me with the requirement of an additional pet fee for our second yorkie we just brought home. I can't afford the amount she is giving me along with the additional rent. She communicated this after we brought him home even though she knew we were bringing him home. I don't currently have a lease so there's nothing I can do about it. Anyhow, let me get to the more important information. I am looking for the perfect home for Charlie. Charlie is an 11 week old 3lbs yorkie puppy. He's intelligent and very playful. I love his personality. He's too young to have mastered potty training but we're working on it. He's bonded with my 7 year old daughter but avoids my adult yorkie. He is submissive towards her but just doesn't really want to interact with her yet. I will need to meet anyone who is interested in adopting Charlie and I will need to check 3 personal references. I need to know that you understand what it will be like to have a yorkie and especially a yorkie puppy. He is very special to my daughter and I and I will not allow someone to adopt him unless I know you can provide the right home for him. Charlie is up to date on his vaccinations for his age but will need more as he grows older. He's also taking monthly heartworm preventive medication. I can provide paperwork for his vaccinations. He has a very good sense of humor and loves to sleep with my daughter. Charlie especially likes a good ear rub. He isn't a complete cuddler yet but he's still young for that. My daughter and I love him so much already so if you seem like a good fit for Charlie, please contact me as soon as possible. I am requiring a $300 adoption fee to ensure only serious adopters. I keep getting errors when I try to upload a photo so email me and I can email you photos. I don't have the means to transport him so only inquire if you're able to travel to Durham, NC. My email: sarajbarone@live.com My daughter and I are heart broken so please if you're going to leave a comment, please don't let be anything harsh. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Wow! If I didn't have a puppy coming (due to be born any day now) I would gladly take him! My daughter will be 17 years old next week and is looking for a Yorkie and we have arranged to get a Yorkie Mix puppy (we have pick of the litter). I am only a couple hours from Durham too! I could easily have drove to get him. We are actually getting our puppy from Michigan. LOL Good luck finding him a great home. Jade

| Did the breeder not have any contract to take him back if you could not keep him?

YT 1000 Club Member | Oh, the poor baby! I got a 10 month old dog many years ago (not a yorkie) and I was her 4th home in the last 6 months. I felt so bad for her. She was so afraid every time I took her in the car that I was taking her to a new home. She got over that in time though and learned that she was loved dearly by me. Unfortunately she had cancer and died last summer. I was not looking to get my yorkie when I got him, but I was in the right spot at the right time and I couldn't not take him. Best thing that has happened to me in a long time. Good luck with him. He really does need the right home. He needs to be loved and secure because switching homes like that can be stressful on a dog. Others though take it in stride when they are placed in the right home and realize that the others were just temporary stops on their way to their forever home. Anyway, good luck! As I said, if I didn't already have a puppy lined up I would be interested.

| Dang your seemingly heartless landlady---She figured she had you "over a barrel" by springing the additional fee after you brought your little guy home. I'm just so sorry for you all...But with your determination and his sweetness, I'm sure you'll find a wonderful adopter, which will help you to feel better, as well. I don't think much of your unfeeling landlady...Thank goodness you are so very thoughtful and caring and loving and are looking out for your pup and your daughter; wishing you all the very best. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Sara, I was not trying to be mean. I just know how it can be on the dog, but I also know it can have a happy ending. My setter was just passing through homes until she found me. Her and I had a great bond. I do hope you find him a great home and I was not trying to be negative about the situation because sometimes things just happen like this. I was just given a 9 year old Yorkie because the family he had is splitting up and they didn't want him in the middle of it. It is bad enough that the kids are in the middle of it. I hope you find him a wonderful home and that he ends up happy and secure.

| Have you thought of doing a go fund me thing and sharing it on fb and having your friends share it and try to make enough money to pay the pet deposit?

| That really is a good idea but I'm in a mess right now without having an actual lease. She wants to increase my rent to more than I can afford because of Charlie. I really need to just move but I can't afford it right now. |

| In that case, just keep doing what you're doing. The perfect partner/parent for Charlie will show-up and you and he and they will know it's meant to be. It'll be ok, it really will...! I rent also, and understand how impossible things can be...but thankfully, I have thee best landlord ever. Just take deep breaths every so often and know you're doing what's best for everyone--not always easy, but right. |
