Have you gone to the dog shows and approched breeders/show people of the yorkies you like in the ring? That is a great place to start. Approach them after they are finished in the ring though. Once they see you at shows - they will know you are serious, so don't be surprised if you are turned down at first. Also join a local dog club in your area. That is also a great way for people to know you. You can also check out the show wins through the AKC event link of previous shows online. P.S. It will be a little easier purchasing a show quality male than female. It didn't state which sex you wanted, so I guess it didn't matter. Best of luck! :) T. |

I'm laughing now at your question if I've gone to dog shows. I could've put a kid through college in what I've spent on entries alone, but thanks for being helpful. |
You can also try here www.thefurkids.com . She isn't cheap but you get what you pay for and she has show quality with good lines. If she doesn't have what you're looking for she may know of someone who does. |

If you contact me and do not share that you are so experienced in the show and breeding field I will also take you as a newbie. If you do not provide all the information- you can not be gave the correct answers. Would suggest that you contact the YTCA website. They may be able to help you with the contact information of breeders in your areathat is posted. Regardless of your being a "very experienced show/breeder" you will have to contact show breeders. They are not sitting out there just waiting to sell you the show and breeding stock that they have. I am sure that with all the Champions that you have finished potential clients came to you- you did not go to them. You made the comment on another post on here when gave a link to a fellow memeber- that you wanted show quality. Does this mean that the dogs at her site do not meet your standards? What are you stating about this memeber? Have you spoke with this member or seen her dogs in person. There are people on this forum I like and those I do not care for. There are those who do not like me as a person. We have respect for each others dogs and do not make any type of inuendos as to someones quality of stock. There are numerous breeders in your area and handlers at the shows- I am amazed that you did not work with any of them in finding your Ideal yorkie. Have you gone to a Specialty Show or Westminster? Both of those allow you to see bloolines from all over the US. The Mt. Rainier Specialty Club held is specialty show this past October 5- that would have been a great place for you to have made contacts in your area. I still find the dog shows a great place for looking. You can see the real thing not a picture-watch the animal move- look at temperment- see the texture of the coat. What bloodlines are you looking at? There are so many different bloodlines and as the breeders on here can tell you- they have a distinct look to each of them. That is why we do not all have dogs from the same person. I have four males and each one of them meets the standard and each one is a different as night and day. Good Luck in your quest |
welcome Welcome...It really does not matter how many champions of one breed you have finished. You are a novice to Yorkies and need to start at shows.. There you will meet the kind of people you want to buy a prospect from..go to the source. Best wishes |

I have moved on. |

BTW it's wrong to think I haven't been looking at Yorkies in the show ring. It's wrong to think I haven't been to the specialties, breed and toy. There's a cluster of specialites around Westminster that I will go to if I am able to travel. It's wrong to think that I haven't spoken with dozens of breeders, handlers, judges, veterinarians, and it's even wrong to think I've never handled the breed. My only mistake was misunderstanding the nature of the members here. If you don't have what I'm looking for, please move on. |

The Northwest has many reputable breeders in the show ring. Many have championed national and international bloodlines. Perplexing why these breeders haven't ingraciated your presents given your past accomplishments or at the very least offered guidance if you've attented shows. I may add show breeders will not contact potential show breeders or novices to place a prized "show potential puppy." Trust must be established and an abundance of show/breeding knowledge must be evident. You must prove yourself to them, not them prove themself to you. A "show potential pup" placement or co-ownership agreement is not entered into on ego but based on mutual trust and respect. God Bless |

Finding foundation stock is a tedious process and if I start with a mediocre, casually bred dog from a kennel with no reputation, I'll never live long enough to get to the garden which is my goal. You said: A "show potential pup" placement or co-ownership agreement is not entered into on ego but based on mutual trust and respect." Please stay off this thread. I don't need this. God bless you too. |

Coming to a public forum asking for "show breeders" to pm you, when you have already been in touch with some"great show breeders" is quite confusing. I know of a great show breeder, who has proven lines, chapions etc...However, passing her number a long to someone that might not be up to par is something I don't want to take a gamble on...Reputation means a lot. Maybe, if you can clear up some things, I would be more than willing to share her info with you! |
