Wanted - male yorkie pup
 
I am looking for a male yorkie puppy. I am willing to travel up to 4 hours to pick the puppy up (I live in Camden, SC) and not looking to spend more than $1000.

Go to www.ytca.org breeder referral page and look up breeders listed in your area. Then call then, interview them. Look in our YT library for the article on how to find a reputable breeder.

Please remember the purchase price of a Yorkie is the least amount of money you will pay over their lifetime. You will need to be prepared for medical emergencies, training, grooming, etc.

There is a saying "buy your breeder first", then your pup.

A good way of meeting breeders is to attend nearby dog shows. You can go to www.akc.org, to find a listing of shows that will be held in your area.

I've checked out YTCA referrals and so far have had no luck, either gotten no response or none have puppies available which is why I thought I'd post here:)

I will check out the dog shows though, that's a great idea I hadn't thought of that!

Also, I just put a price on here as I do not want to waste anyone's time. I know dogs cost money over their lifetime. Trust me, I'm on my second great dane and I have two labrador retrievers, one who has just had her second litter with 13 puppies that I am currently bottle feeding;) However, I have seen many breeders charging upwards of $1200 dollars and pimping the dogs as "teacups" & tinies. I am not interested in breeders like that who jack up their prices to make a quick buck.

I am trying to re-home a Yorkie. My sister bought him for her children a little over a year ago. My mother lives with them and has recently started home dialysis. She was told that the dog could not be around her. I am currently caring for him. He is 11 pounds and 18 months old. He is AKC registered and has a microchip. She paid $800 for him, and would take half that to re-home him.

If you can find a great person and home for that dog, you should give him to them at no charge.

As you have noted, it's not unusual for some breeds to have 13 puppies, at even 500 dollars a puppy, that's $6500 for the litter. Yorkies don't have many pups in a litter and two or three is average. So price seems more comparable, when you take litter size in to account. Are you planning on breeding your male or is he to be a pet?

If i may ask at what age do you sell your yorkie puppies at, AKC requires at least 8 weeks of age

Your puppies are ADORABLE! Whoever ends up with these darling little "wind-up toys" (with a heartbeat) are sooooooooooo lucky!

I am confused. YOu are looking for a yorkie male? FOr pet?
Yet you have posted here that you have a Great Dane and you have two labrador retrievers that you have bred one of them and have a litter of puppies.
And you are wondering why no one in YTCA seems to be able or willing to sell you a puppy.
Gee I wonder why? LOL
