Any additional information you want to add: We purchased Reeses 10 weeks ago from a breeder back when she was 12 weeks old. Due to a change in family circumstances, we have regrettably decided to sell this wonderful puppy. She was born on 8/24/10 and still has all her puppy fur, she is absolutely BEAUTIFUL please see her pictures (the first 3 pictures are very recent and you can see the scale of her size next to a normal stair step, the last one was of her as a puppy at 13 weeks). She is over 6 lbs and completely healthy, microchipped (if she ever gets lost/stolen), UTD on all her shots, and is crate trained. Also if you are a city dweller and do not like to go on walks or have a backyard, she is also trained to go on pee pads or newspaper. Be forewarned you must use a Ugodog/Wizdog or some other pee tray system like that or all puppies/dogs will rip the pad or newspaper to shreds...google it and you will see 100's of products made for this specific purpose. She has a wonderful temperment, she loves to play and normally comes when called (hey she's still a pup so it's a work in progress) and after some time playing she has no problem sitting for hours on your lap. She is comfortable being handled regularly...and does not get skiddish like most puppies when she is combed, having her nails clipped or having her teeth brushed/cleaned...as you know yorkies are notorious for having bad teeth, so they need to have their teeth brushed and cleaned so they stay sparkling white (she still has her puppy teeth). Other than those typical yorkie issues, her grooming and maintenance is somewhat minimal. She is a wonderful puppy and she's never met a stranger. She loves everyone, even small grabby/harsh children or other animals (she is exposed to other dogs of various sizes and cats). She is also large enough where she is not fragile like our other yorkies who have difficulty going up and down stairs and jumping off the sofa. Reeses is the yorkie for you if you are especially worried because you have small children who have been known to be rough around toy dogs. We have 4 children all under the age of 10 (3 boys and 1 girl) and this she gets along fabulously with all of them. We also have other older yorkies, and we have neighbors with much larger dogs...and she can hang with the big guys and play with our little yorkies at home. If you are someone that loves to be showered with kisses the first thing in the morning and the minute you walk in the door after errands or work, then this is the yorkie for you. She loves to play and loves to be held...Once you meet her you will fall in love like we did. We love her very much and want to see her be placed in a loving home. This is a very difficult decision for our family and we will miss her when she finds her forever home, especially my kids and her canine siblings. She will come with some personal items: some food, treats, collar, leash, favorite toy, bed, all vet/medical/shot records, county rabies tag, microchip cards/information to transfer ownership. She has only been fed Nutro Small Breed Puppy Food and has been taking Sentinel heartworm medication (sort of expensive, but we use this for all our dogs, IMHO it is the best insurance for all around worm and flea protection). I've probably spent more on vet expenses and other various items for her than what I am asking...she is healthy and ready to go to a good home. |
Oh she is so sweet looking..... |
wish you best looking for a forever good home for her. |

I never thought we would consider selling her, and that ad was tough to write...I could have rambled on and on about how awesome of a pup she is. |
Have you checked with your breeder? I thought most of the time it was customary to return to the breeder. |
Aww she looks so precious! Out of curiosity, what are considered "typical yorkie issues"? |

1. Most yorkies do not know their size, and may unknowingly put themselves in harms way...ie confront a much larger dog.I hope I answered your question, or possibly confused you? I'm sure there are many who will read what I listed above and may have the total opposite experience. Having said all that, my family and I are completely infatuated with the yorkie breed... |

What kind of vet expenses have you had in the 10 week period that you've owned her? |

We took her to a vet to have her initial exam, fecal, deworming, and a series of shots at the end of November...The shots were listed as Leptospirosis - 3 weeks, Bordetella - 4 weeks. Then she was started on Sentinel. Next visit at the end of December. Another exam and more shots...1 year rabies, plus 1 year county tag, DA2P-Pv - 1 year, Leptospirosis - 1 year, Bordetella - 1 year, another dose of Sentinel. Last visit at the end of January. Microchip implant, checkup/bloodtest prior to being spayed in a few months (done to check for possible issues with anesthesia, which I am told can be an issue with toy dog breeds? She was cleared to have procedure), and another dose of Sentinel. Hopefully this answers your question? No one said owning a puppy would be cheap...and these are vet visits for a healthy animal. I never really shopped around for vets before, but I was planning on switching to another vet that was a little further out and that had awesome reviews and was significantly cheaper than what the VCA charges. |
I posted to your other thread after reading about Reeces :) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...y-stage-3.html |

She is beautiful. I hope everything works out for all of you. Elaine |
She is adorable and I will pray she finds her perfect FURever home. You certainly seem to take great care of her and I am sorry that your situation is one that you can't keep her. I would consider taking her if I had not just picked up my little Biewer last week. Good luck finding the right placement. God will find the perfect family for her. |
