Last year, cancer took my Mom. Two months later, my 11 year old Yorkie died unexpectedly from heart problems. Three months after that, I got my Yorkie pup Jezebel. The ordeal of taking care of my Mom and what is required when raising a new pup is all still very fresh in my mind.

When my Mom was fighting for her life, I was there day after day, with hardly any rest, and what rest I got didn't seem to do much good. I would collapse at the end of the day and get up early the next morning to start all over again. I had no time for anything, no time for my husband, no time for my dogs, no time for myself. I could barely spare an hour a week to hit the grocery store. I was a bundle of nerves.

I simply cannot imagine taking on a new puppy in the middle of all of that. No way I could have managed that at all. I cannot imagine a reputable breeder placing one of their pups, with all of the time and attention that they require, in a home under those circumstances.

I really dont understand why your friend would think that now is a good time to take on a puppy. If she is her husbands carer then she must spend all of her time caring for him right? so what time will she have for the pup?
The pup will give her sleepless nights leaving her tired through out the day while she is caring for her husband. I really dont think she needs the added stress at this moment in time, and as a friend I think you should reconsider this.

Also if you are working nights at the hospital tonight surely you should be asleep right now? wouldn't want you falling asleep on the job now would we?

Indeed it is. This may even be worse than the Cameroon hoax. Here she distorts and plays the Cancer card, but the sad part is, at least 4 members PM'd her offering a tiny for a "FEW GRAND". Me, I will begin a search for my own Chocolate breeding females over 5 years of age, and under 3 pounds. I only want the best, will not travel to see them, expect them to be shipped, and will then ask those with the knowledge what I need to do next to save them! Any tiny studs available? Breeders, please feel free to PM me. I suppose I can scrape up several grand.

I pity any pup that might get caught up in this 'transaction'.

I had a lady contact me in the last few weeks with very similar circumstances, except for the tiny part. Husband has stage 4 cancer..she's stressed and looking for a loving companion. We've talked several times and I think she now understands why it would be a bad idea to get a pup now. I told her I would be happy to talk with her when her life is more settled.

The situation the OP described is not the circumstance to place any pup in....and a tiny?.....out of the question. It's sad that the OP is acting as broker (or whatever) for this and even sadder is that there are those with offers.

You belong here to see both sides, to see who is not reputable, and to learn. You do not thing those that love the breed and are against this type of OP will reply in kind? WHo speaks for the TINY, or the "wanted" 5 year old breeder females? That members would PM her really disgusts me, but again, that is just me, and my opinion.

Sad part is....I am sure someone will read this and PM you - there are people in this world that will do almost anything for the almighty dollar. Sadly, she will probably get her tiny to amuse her "friend".
