Yorkie Male wanted in Illinois!
 
Hi Everyone!

I'm looking for a Yorkie male for my fiancee as a belated Christmas present. I tried finding one for him before Christmas, but most of the breeders I found in the local newspapers sounded like puppy mills.

We lost our boy Fonzie this past summer due to old age, and we'd love to find another with sass and spunk just like him. I live in Northern Illinois near the Wisconsin border, so if anyone has any litters coming up in the area please let me know!

I live in the Chicago area and will be flying out someday to Ca or TX for our next Yorkie.

You certainly will want to check out the YTCA. Best of luck. Buy the breeder first, and then the pup! Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club

Welcome to YT. I'm so sorry for the loss of Fonzie.

There are a lot of great breeders in IL and many up in the northern part of the state. I would make sure to check the link above for a breeder. Good luck with your search.

Watch out, you will probably get a lot of PM's offering you pups for sale. Just be aware that just because someone is a YT member does not make them a good breeder. Do your research to avoid getting burned.

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice! I'll definitely check out the YTCA website for a list of breeders in my area. That definitely helps narrow down my search!

Good for you and thank you for taking the time to look for a reputable breeder instead of doing what sadly so many do and buying from a puppy mill or pet store! Good luck in your search. It looks like you are on the right track and I'm sure the perfect new family member is out there for you!

Maybe you should take a look at this link and see what happens with these scammers. Please be very careful when anyone offers to sell you a puppy either.

I'm so glad that you took the time to read the thread :) Although it was fun to scam the scammer there have been plenty of people that have fallen for there deception. Could you even imagine the heartache they cause while stealing people's money. Although I found it amusing while I was spinning my story it really upset me when she started to say that my daughter would be heartbroken if I didn't wire the money.

I hope that you stick around YT. Be sure to take your time and do your research. It will be well worth it in the end when you have a beautiful and healthy puppy. Wishing you lots of luck in your search :)

It's true....I sometimes wonder how people get scammed by such things, but it does happen. I recently had an email come in that was from a rescuer ... she had copied every rescuer on planet earth with this email from one of the scammers in another country...I honestly don't remember now where....but it was saying that two pups had to be placed and they wanted someone's name, address and other information. They were going to ship the dogs ... yeah right...from another country. ANyway...it was blatantly obvious it was a scam but here was a rescuer buying it. Only two of us emailed her back to inform her it was a scam, so I was left wondering if all of the others bought it???
