Sick yorkie My mom has a one year old yorkie, weighs about 3 lb and super tiny!! He was born normal but unfortunately he fell down stairs and now has a trauma on his head and he is not so normal Now. The vet gave him medicine when it just happen and he somewhat did recuperate but he still needs special care that my mom unfortunately does not have time for. He now also has like a skin problem because his hair doesn't grow and my mom has not took him back to the vet to check. He is very loving but needs someone who has the time and money to give him the care he needs and we do not want to put him down. Please if anyone knows anyone in Florida it would really be a blessing to this pups life. |

What was the baby diagnosed with, both head and skin??? |
Oh how sad for the lil guy :( I think it is a wonderful idea to surrender him to a rescue. They will really be able to get the help he needs and find a perfect home once he has recovered enough. They screen new homes very well too. |
United Yorkie Rescue has foster homes in Florida. I would contact them. They will see that he gets the care needed and find him a good home! |

That would be perfect for him. I filled out the application , I hope they contact me asap.. He was diagnosed only head but the skin issues started recently and my mom hasn't been able to go get him checked which is really unfair to the pup. Thank u guys for the information, that's exactly what he needs |

You completed a surrender form on our site and we don't have any foster homes in FL. The website for United Yorkie Rescue is www.uyr.us If you scroll down towards the bottom of their home page, you will find a link for their surrender form! |
Does YTNR have foster homes there too? Just throwing another option out there. :) |

Not that I am aware of. WOuld not hurt for the OP to contact them, though. There is another rescue, but I am not familiar with what they do, so I will not recommend. |
|
I am sure you can find a rescue that will be able to take him. Please don't give up since the first place didn't have any foster homes. I know something will work out and I know that in past some people will even help drive to get him to the perfect place. I really think you are doing the right thing!! |
Guys it was too late, he was euthanized today :( |
I'm so sad to read this....sorry for this loss! |

Rest in Peace baby boy  |
Rest in peace baby boy! |
I am assuming that he was put down due to a head injury and skin issue. According to the OP. It took my breath away to read that he was PTS. especially after their were many suggestions of rescue groups in the area. Makes me sad and angry that the easiest way out was taken. I could not live with myself if I chose to PTS any of my dogs without using any and all options out there. :( RIP little one. |
you have no idea the rage that is welling up in me right now! i cannot believe that you would come on here and post that you need a rescue and be given so many wonderful options and then decided to euthanize the poor baby anyways. why did you euthanize him you had a TON of options to get him the help he needed. what you have done unless he was dying already was WRONG, CRUEL, and HEARTLESS!!! Your mother better never get another puppy again if she\'s going to let it fall down the stairs and then kill it for having a head injury...you people make me sick! and that\'s my honest opinion! |
Thanks to everyone who said "rest in peace" And to the ones who were quick to judge I want u to know that it wasn\'t my choice. I did apply to many rescues and was suppose to get a response on Monday which is today but when I got home last night he was unconscious and on the floor so I took him to the animal hospital and they said there was no way thy can save him. So I would appreciate ur support instead of angry messages. |
Regardless of why, what\'s done is done and heartbreaking beyond words. I hope the little baby is resting in peace. At least you tried to help. |
My heart just broke, I\'m so so saddened for this poor baby. |
I Guess this should be used as a reminder if you do not have the time or the funds to properly take care of your animal then you should not have one to begin with. I\'m sorry, sorry for the poor puppy that was put down but it is hard to give condolences to the owner. That boy should have been taken to the vet before it got to the point of finding him as you did. I also hope you have finally gotten your 4 lbs girl spayed so there are no more false alarms with pregnancies. I\'m sorry if I sound harsh but I tell it like it is. Elaine |
This is probably one of the saddest and most heartbreaking threads I have read on this forum.....I just want to cry for that poor baby.......May he R.I.P. |
Not the ending I was hoping for...RIP little one. |
RIP little one. |
I too was not expecting this ending. Gosh so sad. I hate to be mean and would not in anyway, but if he was in this shape why was he left alone? RIP little boy |
Very saddened to hear of this loss. I certainly had hoped for a different outcome. I think it is time to bring up this old axiom: If you can\'t afford the vet, you can\'t afford the pet. I don\'t know the age or maturity level of this poster, but sick pups need to be monitored, and why was a pup with a head injury found on the floor and not at least in a xpen, or a crate, where he had a better chance of not re injuring himself. I hope that in future you won\'t add dogs to your family, until you seriously consider the financial costs, and the care needs of a puppy that may become sick. |
