I wish you were closer. She sounds like the perfect friend for my big boy. He too is a big ruff and tumble boy. He's 8 lbs right now. He loves to play with anyone and everything. I think they would have so much fun. I think I might be able to talk my hubby into buying her, but I doubt I could talk him into buying a yorkie and a roundtrip ticket to Calli. So I'm SOL. Just one question is it possible that when you think your little dear is getting beat up she's actually just playing. Sometimes when Logan meets a more agressive player he will take the passive roll and just lay there and get chewed on. This does not hurt him and it's just part of the game. If your older dog is yelping in pain or trying to run away or hide from the younger one then yes it's a problem, but if none of this is happening they may just be playing and getting to know each other in a way that you don't quite understand. Maybe instead of keeping them apart give them a chance to get to know each other with supervision and see if they work out there issues. When two dogs are introduced they have to work out for themselves their ranking in the pack. This is a natural thing that has to happen anytime a new pup is introduced. But I do understand your concern about size I was thinking the reverse we have a big guy so I'll need to get a pretty sturdy buddy so our current yorkie doesn't hurt the new one. But I still havent' gotten the okay for a new one yet, but I want a little girl so bad. |
thanks whisper's mom. The truth is that it is my dog Brandy's fault. I think she is intimidated by Cosmo's size. When Cosmo pounces on her, she is just trying to play. Cosmo likes to play with the neighbor's lab. When I was buying Cosmo I thought I was buying a dog the same size as Brandy. I think Cosmo would go great in a home with other dogs, kids, and she even likes cats. |
I can post a video on here. The fighting is really ugly though and I hate to hear Brandy that way but I feel sorry for her at the same time. I'm really protective of her. |
I recently had to find a new home for one of mine and I know how hard it is. .. Theres nothing worse than 2 dogs who don't get along. Abby ended up getting a home where she is the only dog and is so loved and spoiled. I hope everything works out as well for you . :) |
She sure is cute I hope she finds the perfect home. |

i think your doing the right thing and in no way was i trying to tell you what to do. just trying to give options and be supportive. i love my lucky to death so if another dog came in and i felt lucky was being threatened or in danger that new dog would be out the door. i would find it another home but i would NEVER put lucky in danger for anyone. good luck finding a new home for cosmo. were still adjusting to having a dog so another one is out the question unless i want to be single again ;) yorkies rule !!!!!!!!!!! |
Sounds like it is really tough at your home and you know best. I would hate for anything to happen to her. Best of luck finding a new home. T. |
Thanks T, we're still looking for a great home for her. I'd love for a YTer to have her. |

He needs a friend desperately. If you still have her, I would love to meet her. Email me jerodandcrystal@sbcglobal.net Thanks, Crystal |
