While this is a handsome boy, I would be scared of his current weight at his age. Do you think he will weigh over the standard for the biewer breed?

if he is 6.5 pounds at 5 months, likely he will be over 7 pounds but why is that something to be scared of? Some puppies end up being above the standard, just more to love!

To the OP: he is a gorgeous little one, wish I could take another in right now.... I am sure he is going to find a home in no time.

Sorry, every yorkie i have owned has been done at 6 months. I dont have experience with Biewers, but I seriously doubt he will grow a whole lot more. IMO Besides, what does it matter. He is looking for a loving home! He is gorgeous.

Dana, yes some can be done at 6 months. It just depends. That is why some folks wait to place some yorkies at 7 months.

Breeders dont guarantee size anyway right? Atleast they shouldnt.

Nope that's one thing that should not happen. You could have one slow down and then at a year old gain again.. it just depends!!!

LoL I never said it matters! :rolleyes: I think he's a doll! I was just stating a fact. I have never had a Yorkie be done at 6 months. They still continue to "fill out".

OMG, he is sooo cute. I am always searching for larger boys but can't afford that, unfortunately. :( Not quite ready for 2nd dog yet. But he is just gorgeous. As for weight thing, I had thought Jackson was done growing at 6-7 months... he stayed at 12lbs from 5 months-1 year. At about 1 year and 3 months, bam, 16lbs! Perfectly healthy and in shape, still growing... crazyness!

Breny ... only one of my breeding ever grew past six months ... His daddy is over six pounds and half of the puppies he has produced hardly EVER reach 4 pounds!!!! He is the sire of Gayle's ... on YT and hers are small ...

There is no sweeter puppy I have EVER bred ..... with a coat like dynamite.. looking for a home that maybe has kids that want a dog that is GORGEOUS but not fragile ...... he just wants to be loved and to play ... IF I didn't have another litter coming July 14 ... I would hold on to him ... but I have only a home to keep them in .....and Brodi deserves his own family ...

No ... I am not selling him for a breeder .... Because I cannot guarantee size .... either way ! I did not sell a female to a lady last year because she wanted me to guarantee the pup would REACH six pounds !!!! Then the next person wants one to guarantee they WONT reach a certain weight ... The good Lord decides all of that ! LOL !

But a dog that EVERYONE will say ... what a gorgeous dog ... is what I have to place in the right home .... and that family will say ... he is the sweetest dog we have EVER had .....

My dogs have never stopped growing at 6 months of age. My concern was he would be strictly a beautiful pet.

Not the bigger ones like this boy. But that point is moot...as this one hasn't even reached 5 months yet. We all know a 5 month old puppy of decent size is never done growing at 5 months. Little ones...maybe, but even they continue to fill in over the next few months.
I placed a Biewer boy who at 5 months was 4 and 1/2 lbs. He is now 12 lbs at a 15 months! This pup still has some growing to do.

But to get this back on topic...what a beautiful boy, who will make someone a very nice pet. :)

Guess I am the only weird one. My kids all had their 1 year birthday in March and April. They never changed after 6 months. Sorry i even mentioned it. Just speaking from experience.

Beautiful boy, perfect for a family to love! Many people look for a puppy that is not so small and fragile so they can go on long walks, play with the kids, be a member of the family that can "go with the flow".. easier to do if they don't "top end" at 5 lbs.. I've have people who specifically WAITED for ones that were just a tad bit bigger so they could go roller blading and hiking.. the perfect match is there just waiting for Brodie too! He will bring such joy to his new "people" .. I know the love he's had growing up!

Just felt my heart in my throat ... as I felt the love from my friends ... Sherry, Deb, Gayle and Diana ... They KNOW I love my puppies.... as they love theirs. Of course I have no idea if he will stop growing ... but I pray some wonderful family with children or as Diana says .. WANT a larger gorgeous dog .. will contact me ...

With my next litter coming in 31 days and I am a small in house breeder ...I NEED to find a wonderful home for my Brodie.....
