| Looking For Roxy's New Bestest Friend In PA! I am looking for a furbaby for my little Roxy. A little over a year ago, I thought about getting another Yorkie, but we had too many problems going on. My stepfather, diagnosed with cancer, he is in stage 3b right now and getting chemo... A few weeks ago, our Chihuahua passed away. Her name was Mutzie (Little Kisses). When she was born, she was the runt... she started losing weight and we had to force feed her with an eye dropper every few hours. She lived, and we kept her... for 13 years... She lived a good life and my stepfather treated her like she was a daughter to him. He was devastated when she had to be put to sleep because she was taking siezures daily and she was really suffering. It was heartbreaking... for all of us. Not only for just us, but for Roxy as well. Mutzie was the only playmate she really had. Although Mutzie was older and had bad hips, they would bark back and forth at each other and Roxy would chase her and they would play. I miss her... but no matter what... I want Roxy to be happy. I want her to have someone to be youthful with her and play with her. So, now, I think that its the right time. Roxy will be 3 years old and Sunday, and we are having a big birthday party for her. (You know I will take pictures!)... And my stepfather was talking the other day about Yorkies he saw listed at the Laundromat.... (Ever since I got Roxy, my family has become a Yorkie family... they just adore her.) So, we are trying to find preferrably, a little girl, I have TONS of girly clothes... and someone who isnt too big, simply just because Roxy is only 3lbs, and I dont want her to get hurt during play. Even our friends 7lb Yorkie was too much for her to handle... I didnt think it would be that much of a difference, but it definitely was. So, I am hoping to find someone local, simply because I will not have a puppy shipped to me, either that or if they would meet me somewhere or travel to me, that would be great. I cant pay an arm and a leg, but of course I am willing to pay. I want her to be happy, and that is my biggest thing, and I would hope anybody selling their puppy would care more about her (or him) being in a good place with someone that knows what theyre doing more than someone just willing to shell out huge bucks. I would rather save that money for vet bills and such... Roxy is always taken care of. I actually do like puppies that are a bit older, so dont let me saying "puppy" full you, I call them all puppies... I got Roxy when she was 6 months, and I dont mind getting a puppy who is older, even a few years. As long as they are friendly, and Roxy loves them, thats all that matters to me... and that they are both safe. Thanks for reading, I tend to go on and on... but its so important to me. She is my only child, and probably the closest thing I will ever have to one... I adore her. -Jenny

| I would love to meet him, but Michigan is just too far for me to travel, and I definitely wouldnt want to have a baby shipped to me. I would feel so terrible. I worry about Roxy being in a car with her daddy without me, let alone a baby flying all by themselves. lol. I really would love to see them, and you sound like a fantastic foster mum. Wish you lived closer. And thanks LuckyLady, you have no idea how much that means to me. I love my baby so much... I adore her. If I didnt have her, I think Id be lost, and I feel like some ppl just dont understand that. They think I'm crazy for loving my dog as much as I do... I am not sure what to think about ppl who dont attach themselves like I do, Im not sure which one is wrong or right. All I know is that I thank God everyday he brought her into my life, and when I wake up to her little kisses on my face and laugh, it starts the day out perfectly for me.

| Check out this thread. Kelly is great to work with and my Saydee is amazing. I believe Kelly might be bringing one of the boys up to PA next week, so this might work out for you as well. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-carolina.html

I have a lady that you can contact, she is great. Susan Mitchell. She is in PA. I was talking with her about one of her little boys. It is such a hard decision but she is wonderful to speak with and willing to meet you half way for a fee. Her site is HOME

| I checked out Susan Mitchell and she is advertising a "teacup" which is a red flag to me and says several litters a year and uses the word "kennel." I don't know anything about her, but I didn't get a good feeling from her website.

| Good for you......I saw the website and the same red flags went up for me. Didn't care for her contract either.

| Hi I have a 3 month old Yorkie/Lhasa-poo who needs a new home. She loves other dogs & we can give you all her supplies (collar/leash/toys/carrier/ect). We need to find her a new home since our land lord changed her dog policy. We're asking $300. Here's a pic. We're located in NY but will come to you |

I didn't agree with some of her site but I looked her name up on YT and there was topics about her and her pups and they were good reviews. I believe they go by Crestwing or something similar.

| I did hear good things about Crestwing, but I didn't think they were the same. That "teacup" thing is an advertising ploy and always gets my back up.

| Well, the main reasons I decided to not consider the above listing, was because one, the teacup thing, plus, I am sorry, but I dont understand how some of these ppl can breed their dogs for 4 or 5 years, and then once theyre done breeding them, just get rid of them and sell them for no other reason other than they cant breed them anymore. They should be their family, and they should love them their whole lives. Secondly, when I saw they were selling a Yorkie for $7500, it completely made me not want to buy a dog from them. When you make a price that high and so far out of someones range except for exceptionally wealthy ppl... My car didnt even cost half that much... then you obviously are more worried about cash than the welfare of the puppy. You're basically looking for a Paris Hilton to buy your dog. I just hope that someone with money AND love can afford that dog. I refuse to spend anything over $1000. I would rather the person I am getting the dog from know that I can love my dog, spend time with them, and afford their vet bills, and not just the dog. I got Roxy for $600 and she is barely 4lbs. The reason I got her for that price was because the woman I bought her from knew that I just adored her and wanted her more than anything, so she gave me a reasonable price. She just wanted to make sure the person that loved her got her... and I am almost sure if I couldnt have afforded that, she might have went down quite a bit lower. It was a mutual agreement... Roxy is priceless to me, but I am glad that instead of paying off a dog for years upon years, I can instead pay for their shots and vet bills. Sorry, its something I take pretty seriously. No dog should be free unless there is a good reason or a gift to someone you KNOW is going to take care of it... but cute adorable love shouldnt put you or the dog on the streets cause you cant afford it either. On a different note... Thank you for all your help. All of you. I really appreciate it all, not only the suggestions, but the feedback on all of your suggestions. I just want to make the best decision for Roxy. I am currently considering a Yorkie that a woman near me has that I really would love to have, but I am scared that she isnt completely committed. I can tell she loves her dog, but she also wants to do whats best for her, which I am grateful for that she doesnt want to just give her dog to the first person who can hand her over a load of cash. She wants to make sure that they will both be happy. Any more suggestions, and I would love to take them into consideration.
