I am looking for a new puppy. I want one at least 5lb fully grown. I have a neutered 2 year old yorkie now and would love to find him a sister or brother. Parti yorkies and common yorkies are welcome. I would like to know the parents of the baby and hopefully I wouldn't have to have the baby shipped.... any help?

It isn't a teapot 5 lbs. is standard to the breed.

Yes, 5 lbs is in standard of a yorkie. Sometimes people call the OVER 7 pounders teapots. I think it's cute.

Jen great suggestion. There are so many larger Yorkies in rescue. The poster can also check out Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten.. Good Luck in your search. Elaine

Yeah I know but I think they just use that term affectionately for the bigger then standard Yorkies. Kind of like my calling my Noel who is 17 lbs. a big butt. LOL.

I think this means that she does not want a wee one. Lots of people on here call their larger Yorkies Teapots. This is not a bad thing. Teacup is a word used to market small babies for large amounts of $$ and that is why nobody likes the word. Nobody uses the word Teapot for that reason.

I suppose she could just call it 'big girl'? But I don't see the need. I don't find anything wrong with the the word 'Teapot' as a descriptor.

I think this is a term that started on YT over a year ago. Also the term crock pot which is what my Teddy would be at 16 lbs!

I think it is a cute way to describe size not like the term Tea cup which is used to charge more for a dog.

Good luck finding your new fur baby!

I think the term, "teapot" is a hoot!! We call Harley our keg because he surpasses the teapot and even crock pot size....he's an adorable 21lbs.

Have fun with your puppy search...very exciting for you.
