OK - if you want to see a backyard breeder, come on down to southwest missouri and after you see these you'll never make the mistake again. Stuck in a singlewide trailer with no heat, no air stacked in cages one on top of another with the ones on top pooping and peeing on the ones below them. Sometimes they get fed, sometimes they don't. Some have no legs, no eyes, but as long as they can reproduce, they are kept. They are NEVER held, except to give shots and to breed. They are dirty, never groomed and run in circles over and over. It's terrible someone would assume another is a backyard breeder - shame on you. |

Sad, very sad. |
The only difference between a backyard breeder and a puppymill is that a puppymill is on a much bigger scale. The backyard breeder has only so much room to breed dogs so they compact them as much as they can. Same level of abuse, same horrible conditions.... |

Hi Kelly, Good luck with your puppy search! It can be really hard and so tempting to buy a sweet little one...just be sure to do your homework. Yorkies have several health issues that can be very expensive to treat to downright life threatening. There is a wealth of information on YT that you cannot find in books. Also if you get some spare time please visit Puppymills - Information about puppy mills and how to shut them down.. WARNING very sad but unfortunately a reality even for our precious Yorkies. Anyone advertising they are U.S.D.A. certified please do not do business with them and never buy from a pet store. |
Hi 1 Attachment(s) Hi EveryBody Im New Im From Ireland Always wanted to join here to talk to People From Different Countries About How Beautifull And Wonderfull it is to own yorkshire Terrier.:) This Is pic of My little Yorkie Who is 12 weeks old. |
Southern California...I live here. The going rate for yorkies is around 1500+ if you are looking at a reputable breeder. Good Luck. |
Opps-Old thread |
2 Attachment(s) I was also told that there are no such things a Teacup Yorkies when I purchase my little one from the breeder and she stated that they do not even try to breed them small due to health issues. I was also told by a Yorkie owner that smaller yorkies tend to break their legs easy when jumping from chairs. I've had lil Storm for about 2 months now, he is small (2.6 lbs) and was told that he may not get any larger than 3lbs but he was the smallest in his litter. |
Oh yeah the lady that I purchase my Yorkie from does shipping for 250.00 I think. I purchased Storm for $675.00 because I purchase him for a pet and didn't pay for the full breeding rights. I'm not sure if I can post the link to her page but I will try. She was very friendly and even though she lives 1hr and 30 mins away from me she was willing to meet me half way but I was in luck she had an Adult Yorkie coming in so she had to come to the airport near me. Welcome to Sparkle of Glamour! Offering beautiful, healthy, happy yorkie puppies & RARE CHOCOLATE & CHOCOLATE PARTI YORKIES! |
