I need him to go to a home where he will be neutered and kept strictly as a pet. He needs to go to a home with no small children. He is very intelligent and knows lots of tricks. |
Bump..... I am pretty negotiable on the price.... |
Is this Turtle or Duckie? :( |
Yes, it's Turtle. He is VERY aggressive and bites my daughter and attacks my other dogs, as well as Duckie for no given reason. I did some research and found out he came from a puppy mill in Oklahoma and was purchased from Petland here in GA. The people that I bought him from told me they got both him and Duckie from a very reputable breeder and I trusted them. Duckie's background check is fine and she is an absolute sweetheart. I am not pleased that I was lied to about the whole situation. I think that is probably why they were selling him. I might just adopt him out because he needs to go to a home where he will be neutered and not used for breeding. I will not allow him to go to a home with small children, as he is too unpredictable around them. He also needs to be an only dog, because he is very dominant. I have tried to do everything I can but since he is an adult dog and set in his ways, there is really nothing I can do :( It breaks my heart, but I just can't have him attacking and hurting my daughter or my other dogs. |

She was interested, but for breeding I believe. I have decided that he is not suitable for breeding and will have to be neutered. |
Ah...I feel very sad that Turtle and Duckie are going to be separated. I know you said his original owners didn't tell you the truth, but I wonder if they would want him back, being that you only just got them :( |
Yea, I don't know what to do. They did not have enough time for him because they were expecting another child and he was going out of country and they were moving. I am not too happy about the whole situation...it makes me sad because I have gotten really attached to Turtle :( He even attacks Duckie sometimes and draws blood. I really think he needs to be an only dog. He just has way too much aggression in him. I don't know if it's because he never got attention or because he came from a puppy mill or what could have made him like this. It just scares me how unpredictable he is. I have a 1 year old, so I am doing this more for her protection. I have thought this over extremely hard and at this point, I have to look out for my child's safety. |

Ouch! Best of luck. |
Sorry you are having to deal w/this! I agree that I would contact the original owners and see what they say! Good luck to you! |
Awww... I'm sorry to hear this about Turtle... I agree with TLC & Autumn ---I had an agressive male a few years back that attacked my son and I returned him to the original "parents". They really appreciated my doing that. :) |
Yea, I think I will. I can't return Duckie though, she is a sweetheart!! :D I wonder if there is a lemon law for dogs in GA? He also has really BAD teeth. Terrible tartar and bleeding gums along with the fact that he has already lost two teeth since I got him and I also suspect a collapsed trachea. I know those issues can be from the fact that he came from a puppy mill and a result of bad breeding, but some of it has to do with how he was taken care of as well in my opinion. His teeth should have never been allowed to get as bad as they were :( I feel like I really got ripped off for what I paid for them. |

I can not say if that's a result of being from a mill or not, but at this point, I would think that you would want the VERY BEST for him and her. |
He even attacks HER though. I have to keep them seperated half of the time because he will start barking at something and absolutely go nuts and attack her. He latches on with his teeth and will NOT let go. It's like he is out for blood when he does this. I do not know why he is like this and if there was something I could do, I would do it in a heartbeat. I don't think it is a good idea to have him around her if he is going to attack her for NO given reason. Yorkies have been known to injure each other and even kill each other. I don't want that happening. My whole point is that I think he needs to be an ONLY dog. I think that this agression problem may be the REASON they got rid of him...He just doesn't get along with anybody :( |

Good luck to the op, I am sure you will do what is best for all involved. |
That is exactly what I am afraid of. I do not want either of them getting hurt. It is a hard decision to make, but I have to do what is best for them. I have had a few people suggest that I put have him down if he is THAT aggressive, because he attacked me yesterday just because I was taking his picture :( He also attacks me whenever I try to stop him from fighting. It's very scary even though he is small. I am NOT gonna have him put down though. There is not as much aggression towards people, it's more towards other dogs . I would much rather have him go to a home where he can be the only dog and be the alpha male like he wants. I think he would be much happier. |
Yikes. This is a bad situation. I think you are right to re-home him where there are no children or other dogs. In the meantime, I'd try a muzzle. Pet food Express has tiny ones, and Petco probably does too. No sense taking any chances while you work this out. Good luck. I know this must be difficult. |

I also agree that PTS - is NOT the answer. He needs the proper care and the proper experienced people. Yorkie Rescue  |
How do I go about getting him into a rescue? |

Very good advice. Elaine |
Good luck i hope he find's the perfect home. |
Thanks everyone. I hope I am doing what is best. This is so hard :( |
Where you able to get a hold of the original owner or find a resuce to take him? Elaine |
Sorry you are experiencing this behavior Did you know the breeder? Did they have children? Maybe he has been teased in his past. Did you receive a copy of his pedigree? Inbreeding can also be a culpert. Wish you the best of luck. Contact the person you purchased your Yorkie from. :goodluck: |
AWH this is so sad....I remember these two looking for a home. |

I think I read everything but did not see ...have you tried getting him neutered and seeing if that helps his aggression issues. I know I have NO experience with this so I may be grasping at straws here but is that worth a try? Gosh my heart is breaking for all of you...so sad! |
I still have him and I am now interviewing for prospective homes. I am going to be very picky and I am gonna require that they have him neutered. I am looking for an older couple or someone that can't have children so he can be treated like a baby. He also has to go to a home with no other dogs, since he is so aggressive towards other dogs. I feel so bad that he came from a puppy mill and ended up this way as a result. I HATE puppy mills and I just wish they would disappear  He is my responsibility and I think this is what is best for him. I just can't see putting him in a rescue and never seeing him again :( I want him to go to a home where I will be able to visit him and check up on him. Just keep praying that the perfect person will come along. Thanks for all of your support. |
