I started doing this part 18 years ago, when I took in my first three. All rescues. But being in Florida I have been asked the prices of yorkies in different states other then here. I was just really curious as I have seen so many different prices since I joined YT. If I was going to buy out of state, I would try to do it so that when we are heading north, I would go and find the breeder and see for myself. I have been stung in my day and by well know show breeder in Canada. So if I can ever do homework to help some one get information, I am always willing. I also learn myself this way. And a lot of it is out of curiosity. Kinda nice to know. I really appreciate all those that have replied on this thread. My brother took in a puppy mill rescue and the poor fellow still runs around in circles. He is the same way now since 1999. He will go to no one other then my brother and his family. pooh's mum | |

| i am in illinois and my prices range from as low as 300 to 1200...all depends on the size, the sex, coat and so on...i have sold for the lower prices to loving homes that could not afford the higher prices...just because i wanted too...not because the puppy wasn't healthy. i am not a kennel...these are my home raised, spoiled furry kids...as long as their going to good homes....i'm happy....i'm not a breeder to make money, but for the love of the breed and i enjoy it. when ever your ready for 1 or 2 puppies i'll give you a great deal and i deliver also....i see your in flordia.... I have a home in port orange...so not sure where your located but always up for a road trip....lol....all my babies are akc and have champions in their pedigree. they do come pre-spoiled...can't help myself. hope to talk to you soon...you can email me at triciahaug@yahoo.com for questions or pics . happy yorkie hunting, tricia

| Since you really just wanted to know what the prices are for Yorkies in various states, I'll tell you about mine. My breeder is in Indiana and has beautiful puppies, AKC, occasionally a tiny, but she breeds for the standard and for healthy puppies. She is into showing and has several champions. Hers sell anywhere from $800 to $2000. I was pricing Yorkies in Florida before I got my Indiana puppies and the places I called in Florida were comparable in price to the Indiana puppies, except for one well-known Florida breeder who sells his puppies for many thousands.

| We have a lot of yorkies out here that are AKC registered, but don't meet the standard size wise. They are still great pets. For example, I got Tucker for only $500, AKC registered and no limitations on breeding rights or anything. He is one year old now and 9.5 lbs. I love him!! It might be nice to have a smaller one for portability and travel, but I love Tucker the way he is. He is so much less maintenance as far as worrying about having to feed him every few hours, fragility, etc. He is a hardy little guy who loves to play and run. I think if he was any smaller and had the same feisty personality he wouldn't survive LOL! You can get yorkies here with CH. bloodlines for over $1000. I have yet to find a breeder here that shows her dogs, , though. Pretty much they are all breeding for good pets, not show dogs, around here.

| Thanks everyone, this helps if I decide on getting a future yorkie down the road.. I see so many many beautiful yorkies on YT. I would just love to know where people are getting them and the prices.. I made this thread more out of plain old curiosity... wanting to see prices from all around.. and get as many people from as many states as I could to just see. I appreciate everyone's input.. pooh's mum |
