Able to open my heart to another little girl ... 4 Attachment(s) This message is to let people know that I am able to take in a female Yorkie (either rescued or from a family looking for a good home). I am self employed and work from home, so the dog will rarely be left alone at any time. My tragic story about the 10-year-old Yorkie, Annie, I rescued is chronicled here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=106677 Unfortunately my beloved little Annie was suffering from terminal cancer (among many other things) and was in so much pain it would have been selfish to keep her alive. Euthanizing Annie was the most painful thing I ever had to do in my life (I have tears in my eyes as I'm writing this), but she had to be put to sleep because of the incredible amount of pain she was in. So here I am with a hole in my heart and every supply a Yorkie could possibly need thanks to having Annie (i.e. kennel, bed, blankets, toys, baby gate, food, treats, puppy bads, dishes, a harness, leashes, collars, shampoo, doggie perfume, a house with a fenced in back yard and much more). I am in a unique situation in that I can receive unlimited veterinary care and medicine because my business belongs to a barter exchange where businesses trade services with each other (without spending cash). So as an example, I build websites for $5,000 each - which gives me $5,000 in credit to spend with any other business that belongs to the exchange (there is a vet and a pet store that belong to my the barter exchange). My cash situation as a single mother is moderate, but I am very blessed to have this barter arrangement set up for veterinary care and pet supplies. I do not have hundreds or thousands of dollars to spend on purchasing a Yorkie, but would be able to take in rescued puppy or one where the previous owner is not looking to make money, but just the peace of mind that their dog is going to an excellent home. I live in Winnipeg, Canada and could pay the costs of shipping the right Yorkie to my city. I have a sweet, gentle 6-year-old daughter named Hannah, who loves Yorkies just as much as I do. We own a house with a fairly large, fenced-in back yard. We treated our previous Yorkie, Annie, like a member of the family and she travelled in our car with us on excursions regularly. We have a ton of love to give and everything ready to provide a home to the Yorkie that God blesses us with. I can provide references and answer any other questions you may have. My email address is jamiesaari@yahoo.com. Warm Regards, Jamie p.s. Here are some photographs of our beloved former Yorkie, Annie. |
I'm sorry about the loss of your baby :( I hope you're able to find a sweet little rescue to bring into your family. |
I just re-read my previous posting and when I say "puppy" I mean a dog of almost any age. My preference is to have a dog under the age of 10-years-old because losing Annie so quickly was one of the most painful experiences I have ever gone through. I'm not sure I could bear the pain of only having another Yorkie for a short period of time again. I always referred to 10-year-old Annie as my "puppy" and I am open to a female Yorkie of any age. Warm Regards, Jamie |
jamie, i am so sorry about annie - she was beautiful and obviously meant so much to you and your daughter :( i pray you find the perfect yorkie soon to fill that hole in your heart that annies passing left :( your post made me teary too! GOOD LUCK! there are wonderful members on here and hopefully someone has a yorkie that is looking for a loving home! :) |
Oh Jamie, I am so very sorry about Annie. I, too, lost a rescue after only 48 hours due to cancer. Proof positive that it only takes a few minutes for these little angels to crawl into your heart and make a home. My heart aches for you. Please spend time on Petfinder and other rescue sites. I got my Chloe for free and my Harry for only $25.00 from a shelter. It's time consuming, but well worth it. But, first of all, pray. God knows what's in your heart and will supply your needs. Trust Him to bring the perfect little furkid into your home and it will happen. Hugs and prayers headed your way! Jacki |
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope and pray you will be able to find a baby to help fill the whole in your heart. |
I'm sorry for your loss. I do hope you find the perfect new furbaby to love! |

Hi, Sent you an e-mail on a possibility. :) |
Where in Canada are you??? Have yoiu checked with the Canadian Yorkshire Terrier rescue |
I just wanted to extend an huge thank you to Omega for contacting me privately with an opportunity for a beautiful female Yorkie. The beautiful little girl we talked about wasn't right for me, but I know she will be perfect for another lucky family. In memory of Annie, it is becoming clear the type of little girl I would like to bring into my home. I'm normally not this open about my finances but revealing this information helps readers understand what I can offer to a rescued Yorkie. Because of my business barter/trade situation I currently have $15,000 in barter credit (from designing three websites at $5,000 each) I could decide to spend on veterinary care or at a pet store. In my personal account I have less than $1,000 cash after paying my mortgage, buying groceries, buying Christmas gifts etc. My preference is to keep my cash in my savings account for an emergency because it is the responsible thing to do. The ideal Yorkie for me would be a little girl who is 10 years old or younger. She would be in excellent to moderate health. Providing ongoing vet care is easy for me because of my ability to spend the $15,000 I have in barter credit with an excellent vet. I can pay for the expense of bringing the little girl to my home by plane or bus, but don't have the extra cash revenue to pay a lump sum to purchase a Yorkie. I hope this makes sense and I know that this is what Annie would want, if she were able to communicate with me. |
Hi 3CrazyYorkies, I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba - which is within easy driving distance of North Dakota or Minneapolis. I have submitted an application to the Canadian Yorkie Rescue and am hoping for a response. My downfall is that I am unable to provide a cash donation, but have proposed the idea of immediately taking a Yorkie that needs vet care and providing her with the care she needs - instead of the rescue organizationg having to pay cash for the vet fees and then raising funds to cover it afterwards I hope this makes sense. |
Have you seen this fella? I know you said you were looking for a female, but this little guy really needs a good home :( http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=105052 |
Hi TLC, I have read the thread you referred me to and will be contacting the owner to ask for more information. I could open up my home to a little boy - although he would be wearing a lot of pink and sleeping in a pink bed ... LOL. Silly me, I bought Annie the most feminine, pink and purple toys, outfits and other stuff thinking I would have her for at least another five years. I'll update you on how things go. Warm Regards, Jamie |

I have a boy and he is the BEST! He is the lovey dovey one. He LOVES kisses and to be held and cuddled :p - Girls are great too, but there's something about a boy, I have just found them to be more affectionate :D Best of Luck! |
