I am so sorry for your loss.Wishing you every success in finding your special little Yorkie!:) :) :) |
4 Attachment(s) Hi, Below is a cut and paste of the incredible miracle that happened to me today. I also posted this in my other two threads. Warm Regards, Jamie Something truly unbelievable has happened and I'm still feeling like I need to give my head a shake as my wishes and dreams rarely come true in such an instant for me. Maybe it's Christmas magic ... I received an email from the operations manager of the Humane Society in Thief River Falls, Minnesota saying that she thought I would have the perfect home for a female Yorkie she had recently rescued. The four-year-old little girl was seized from a neglectful home in the area and was suffering a horrible infestation of fleas. The humane society treated her and she no longer has fleas, but has dry skin and a bit of dandruff from the aggressive treatment they needed to give her. She is four years old, very tiny (less than 4 pounds) and looked very cute in the photograph she sent me. My daughter and I decided to take the drive (three hours there and three hours back) today and we instantly fell in love with her. She has the most beautiful little face and a cute little overbite. We have decided to name her "Tika" (as we loved the name of Omega's Yorky named "Tinka"). Tika's personality is very much like Annie , except Tika has more confidence and curiosity like a puppy. She is very afraid of new people, but warms up much quicker than Annie did. She does not like my mother's Pug, "T-Bone", but I'm sure she will warm up to him down the road. It is the most amazing thing, but this little girl is definitely the right one for our family. She instantly took a liking to Annie's cushion bed and is laying in her bed next to me in the same way Annie did. Both Tika and Annie tremble like crazy when they are in new situations or meeting new people. I hope this doesn't sound strange, but I believe Annie is smiling down on us. I am so thankful Annie came into my life because she awakened my love for dogs again. There was something so special about Annie and I will continue to love her for the rest of my life. Rescuing "wounded souls" is truly my calling. I'd like to devote a month or two to fully training Tika to use her "pee pad" and adjust to our home. I may take in another Yorkie down the road, but will limit myself to no more than two dogs. I plan to follow the story of the 8 1/2-year-old male in New York City and if he is available after Tika has settled in, I may welcome him into my home as well (if his owner agrees to rehome him with me, of course). Here are some pictures of my new little girl. Although she looks like a puppy, she is really four years old. |

I'm so happy for you Hello Your story just warmed my heart. I truly do think that Annie had a part in bringing this new puppy to you. Although you will never forget Annie, the happiness that the new puppy will bring you will help to heal that pain. Best of luck to you. Janelles Tootsie & Teddy's Mom |

She is PRECIOUS!!!! Just precious!!!! I know what you mean about feeling called to rescue. I would definitely want to do more of it if finances permitted. What a unique opportunity for blessing you have!! |

Jamie I posted before I read through. I am so happy you found your little girl. Congrats. I also meant to to tell you that I am sorry about your Annie. I lost my 10 yr. old Newman about four months ago. Like your girl Newman had cancer and we had to put him out of his misery. Lilly, is the little girl that came to us like it was fate. Best of luck with your girl. Elaine |
Just wanted to let anyone who is reading this thread know that I am still open to adopting another Yorkie (male or female) of any age (young or old). If you are looking for an excellent home that can provide virtually unlimited medical care, please drop me a line. I cannot afford to pay a large lump sum to purchase a rescued dog, but have the ability to provide excellent regular vet care and an extremely loving home. Continued contact, updates and even visits would be available. |
