Usually people that have allergies, can have yorkies, as their hair is like human hair..One of the ladies in another forum I belong too has 5 yorkies, her hubby is allergic to dogs, but not the yorkies..are you sure it couldn't be something in the house you're allergic too besides the dog? good luck on selling him |
I am sure. His hair was what I love about him. It is just like human hair and it drys so fast when I give him a bath. I have been in this house for almost two years. I haven't ate anything different or been around anything different. When he is in my lap, my eyes start watering and burning. |

So sorry you have to rehome your little guy. I deal w/severe allergies and asthma, and usually do well on medication (although I am starting shots here soon). Have you tried anything like Claritin? It's OTC and I use it w/great results as I need it.. it could help <3 |
oh that is so awful .... I feel sad for you .... I know this must be so difficult to you to do .... |
I am on Singular, another pill, and two Rx eye drops. The infection is clearing but the allergies won't get better! It makes me sad. I could deal with sniffles but the eye problems are too much. I can't belive this is happening. |

Ahhh iam so sorry you have to rehome him, He is so cute:) hopefully someone here can get him:) best to you. |
I am so sorry you have to rehome your baby. But I can totally sympathize with you on the allergies....I am the one in our family that has allergies...I get allergy shots twice a week. Take Allegra D and Singular and Advair. Also use a nose spray- Nasacort.... Hubby's rottweiler has to stay outside which just kills me...I feel so guilty but I can not breathe, have severe headaches-watery eyes, etc....Luckily for me, My yorkies do not affect me..... Hope you get to feeling better.... |
So sorry you have to rehome him. He's a doll. |
I am so sorry you have to rehome him. He is adorable!! I had allergies pretty bad. I was always sneezing, my eyes would become watery and red like they were infected and would actually break out in a rash. So I took Zyrtec-D everyday, a nose spray as well and was also getting allergy shots on a regular basis. The allergy shots is what helped the most. I was on them for probably a good 4 years. The idea of the shots is to build up an immunity to what you are allergic to. It worked great for me. Now I no longer need the allergy shots and only on an occasion do I need the medicine. I know allergy shots isn't an option for everyone but I would look into it. And the needle they used to give the shots were so tiny that I didn't even feel it at all. Otherwise I probably would have never agreed to having the shots on a regular basis. But I had to try something, there was no way I was going to give up my furbabies. I do sympathize with your allergies, I couldn't even stand to be in the same room without my allergies acting up. Good luck with whatever you decide.:animal-pa |
Here is a pic of his mommy: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...lle0212/tn.jpg Here is a pic of his daddy: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...212/Tanner.jpg |
Sorry you have to rehome him. He is very cute. My niece - who actually was over our house last night has bad allergies to dogs - even my two Yorkies. We thought she would be ok, but even with the medicine her eyes turned pink and her neck - so I know what you are going through. |
I am so sad for you that you have to rehome your precious baby. Here would be the most perfect loving person for him, if you would excuse my presumption: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=102496 You two should have a "chat".:D Lauren |

I have bad allergies to cats but with my yorkies im fine! |
Joy, he's beautiful. I wish I had the money for him, as I only live about 20 minutes from you, just past Stateline, in Alabama. We do all our shopping in Waynesboro. Perhaps if you decide to keep him, we can get our babies together for a play date! |
I belive I have found a home for Skip!! I am so happy to have found one so soon. |

Hi Joybelle. I'm sorry you having trouble. I know others have mentioned this already but I thought I'd add to it. My son who has very asthma and allergies and who gets very sick around dogs and cats does very well with my Yorkies. I have five. I'm not saying that allergies do not happen with Yorkies and some people but it is very rare. I'd hate to see you get rid of your baby and find that something else is causing this. A quick little story; I had a Sun Conure (Small parrot) for threee years. Had her out of an egg. She was my little baby that would sit in my shirt while I cleaned. Well, I became very very ill and the doc. could not figure out what it was. He finally came to the conclusion that it was my little conure causing me to be so sick. He said that I had "A" typical Pnemonia and that all birds carry the (Something I forget what it is) and that it only effects "Some" people and that I was one of them. He told me that I needed to find a home for my Abby or I would never get better. I was terribly sick. Well, I found a loving home for her with a semi retired couple. Gave Abby away with her cage, playstand, food etc. and only asked that they love her like I did. I cried for months after and I never did get better. Turned out to be something else - Chronic Leukemia. I would really reccomend before you give your baby up to go to a good allergist and make sure that it is really him causing it and nothing else. I'd hate to see you go through the heart ache that I went through. Best of luck Elaine |

That's a good suggestion to go to an allergist first just to be positive. |

I am sure you are going to have tons of fun with your new little one. He is absolutely adorable and I love how his ears are standing up soooooooo straight!! Too Cute!:) :) |
I have a serious question to impose here....but only because it relates to my 10 month old yorkie, Johnny Cash. I looked at Skip's photo and noticed a similar trait that he has with my Johnny Cash....they have what appears to me to be unusually large ears. People comment on it all the time when they see Johnny Cash. Is this a normal size ear for a yorkie? I know, odd question, but Cash's ears do seem quite large to me. ~ Kelly |
