I use the silk / satin belly bands as well and have not had any problems. I use an Always pad inside of it and change it whenever he has marked. Ashton used to mark like crazy but hardly ever does now when he has the belly bands on. I use baby wipes to keep him cleaned off and don't use them at night when he is in bed with us as he knows not to lift his leg then. The ones that I have use velcro, but as long as the band fits right, it shouldn't cause you any problems. I also pull all of the hair up on both side to make a ponytail on his back (do pigtails on either side if the hair is not long enough). This keeps it from getting matted and also keeps him from peeing on it when he is outside. I then keep that section oiled down pretty well so that it doesn't dry out with the belly band on. |

I was always told never to use a belly band unless you have a silk jacket on them. So I never have but its nice to know that it is being done and not harming the coats. Deana Prestigeous |
I tried the belly bands with the poise pads, but my boys soaked through in under 2 hours!!! I am so afraid they will get bladder infections I quit using them. What am I doing wrong? With 5 boys with the run of the house, I am desperate for something that works when I am work. I'm gone for about a six hour stretch. |
Alot of breeders use the baby diapers and wrap it around the boys belly like you would a belly band. Also pishpads, some people use a 2 litre bottle wrapped with a pish pad and they hike their legs there. Here is the link for pish pads http://www.pishpad.com/ Hope this helps Deana Prestigeous |
