I actually get excited about Yorkie bath day!!! any miracles for keeping the hair out of their eyes??? we use Scrunchies when we are home - they pull them out of each others hair - we try to keep an eye on them. they have eaten them - i found them in the poo a few times. i have tried putting hair gel to train the bangs to stay back - they just mess it up & the hair falls right back in front. heres a picture of kylee's hair in her eyes. |

Thanks, But, as I tell everyone. You'll get alot of info from alot of sources, take them in and file it in your file cabinet (memory banks) pull it out as you need it. Every dog is different and requires a whole different set of info. |

Thanks you for stopping, you're embarassing me. There are others on here that provide input and advise for the same reasons I do. You can be teacher's pet for a few days |

Now Mary Ann, what are you gonna say...You've got my Grandson |
I completely remember this stage...what a tangled mess...but luckily it gets better. I've noticed that using a heavy conditioner really helps. I try to run a fine tooth comb thru the hair during bath time with conditioner on, let it sit, then rinse and I have less tangles after bath....kinda like how we do it on human hair. |

Shampoo etc. I too have a 4 month old little girl "Lily" and she is full of mats close to her skin and real bad on her legs!! When you say "regular shampoo & conditioner and clarifying shampoo" are you meaning "Human shampoo" or "Dog shampoo"?? I read alot about that "Cowboy Magic" on here and looked for it and couldn't find it and bought "Mane & Tail Conditioner"?? I was afraid I was leaving too much soap on her so I have just washed her face w/baby shampoo and rinsed her body and put that conditioner on her the last 2 times I bathed her because she is scratching something horrible?? I have used Frontline on her and it is time to put it on again (2nd time since I have had her) but I have to wait a couple days now because I had her wet yesterday. With the "Isinis Brush" do you only use that w/blow dryer" or can you use it just to brush her and if so when she is "DRY"?? She HATES the dryer so I have been letting her air dry and trying to comb/brush her when she is wet because I read that if you comb them wet and brush dry that helps?? Well after yesterday when I used the conditioner on her and washed her face w/baby shampoo and tried my best to comb/brush the mats out of her she is matted even WORSE today and she is scratching constantly?? THANKS for all your help ... this site is wonderful. I just took her for her first walk w/her new "silk harness" from here and it worked great!! FIRST time she has actually WALKED and not just laid down and rolled or chewed the leash!! If she walks will that help her nails or will I still have to cut them?? I have a "grooming appointment" for her next week and I thought maybe if I took her that might get her started and then I could keep up with her better after that?? I am hoping her "coat" will be alot easier than this "puppy fur"!! THANKS AGAIN!! Karen |

I use the French Isinis Brush on them when blow drying. I use a metal comb from Petsmart to pass through the hair to make sure i got all tangles out. I use a Madan Pin Brush to brush Dry coat. I spray the brush with a detangler or finishing spray. here is the link to the brush with member Ladymom post #14: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ifference.html I use a Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner on all of mine. I have both people products & dog products. |
I use ULTRA WASH TOO SHAMPOO and T*H*E STUFF..through pet edge and it works GREAT with tangles and matted hair. |

THE STUFF...is a CoAT Conditioner..cuts grooming time, Tangle Remover..NON-Toxic/Hypoallergenic Just go to petedge.com and type the name and it comes in different sizes..you just mix 15parts water to 1part of "the stuff"..I like it on my yorkies..everyone has their own things they like to use..I just prefer this;) |
