So many reputable breeder/exhibitors have been lied to in the past that they are just a little "gun shy" as we say down here. They have trusted new people with their experience, knowledge and sometimes dogs only to have these people take advantage. They work so hard to breed for quality and then to have someone come along and take a show quality puppy and just breed to anything, where their lines can wind up in the hands of backyard breeders advertising "champion lines". It may make them appear snobbish, but maybe they're just putting on the bullet proof vest until they are certain they are not going to be hit from behind.
When they see you are for real and actually are doing your best to promote the betterment of the breed, they will come around. (JMO)
