Show or Breed? Help with... Okay guys I need your help. I have my Keekee that I was thinking about breeding coming up this Oct. The reason I was not going to show her is that she has this nervous habit of kissing the air. I know, sounds weird, but she does it! I have tried and tried to break her of it, but no luck. The owner of the stud I want to use - asked me if I really wanted to show her first. I explained my problem with her. LOL You ought to see her when the little "trick-or-treaters" come over. Last year she constantly was kissing all night long. LOL I would really love to show her and just about gave it up due to this and just decided to breed her instead. She is beautiful (but I am partial since I am her mom) and here are pictures for you to see. I just took them today. Does anyone have any ideas how to break her of this, so I can show her? Thanks for any help. T.

She's gorgeous but I would question the breeder as to rather any other dog in her line has done this. It would be interesting to see if this is a hereditary tic or just an unusual habit. If I really wanted to show her, I believe I'd take that chance, she looks beautiful to me. Maybe she knows she's gorgeous & she's just throwing kisses to her adoring fans.

That's it - she thinks she is soooo cute! It is not a tick and have checked with her breeder - no one else does it but her. She didn't even start out with this. She started it one day when we were playing with her and telling her how cute she is. That's my luck - I give my dog a problem! LOL You are right - she is just throwing kisses - this is how it looks. T. Thanks for all the compliments. I just hope she will not do this in the ring!

Pat - I have never had her in the ring, ever! She loves to eat and bait may work. I am not use to using bait, but can. I just have to make sure I wear something with pockets. That is a great idea though! I have handling class tomorrow and will bring her, to see how it goes. My trainer/handler may have some ideas too. I just never thought of showing her, because of her kissing. I was also busy with Easy, showing her. I didn't even realize that Keekee looked liked this till I took the oil out of her coat today and decided to see what she could look like, ring ready look. Our yorkies go through such metamorphsis from what they look at home compared to the ring. Lay people would never know, if they came to our homes. It looks funny - some look like they are getting a perm with the wrapes, others have the stringy looking hair since they are in oil and others cut down (finished). T.

kisser Why not take her to a fun match or some handling classes and see how she acts..she may forget all about it in the excitement..if not she may outgrow it or you can distract her..good luck

Dear Pat, I have handling class tonight and plan to take her and a Match in a few weeks. I think I will also enter her in one show and see how it goes. She did great for the pictures yesterday, so table works. I am going to try the bait though and that may just keep her mind off of being nervous. I plan to make the ring fun for her and see how it goes. All I can do is try. I just can't believe I didn't think of this earlier, but was preoccupied with Easy. You know how it goes - you want to spend your money wisey and entry fees add up. Do you think I have a chance to get some points on her? I hope so! You never know sometimes. It is very hard work, but I nknew this and still am having fun!! I am looking for a camper to buy now , since my last show at Perry - staying in a hotel was awful! People partying until 1 AM and then tried to get me involved when I complained at the front office. What an experience. This way I am on location and have everything I need for the show. It is a lot cheaper too! Maybe meet some new friends too. T.

LOL She laps the air - you know like kisses (dog way). She doesn't lick the person - just up in the air with her nose up and licks very fast. I know it sounds crazy. T.

Sorry - no video, but promise to try and get it on tape sometime this week and send. It is a real hoot!! Well, I took her to handling class tonight and guess what? Not one lick or kiss all night. Yeap, my handler/trainer said, "Don't tell me you have been sitting at home with her all this time?" I said yes!! I can't believe it! Then she looked in amazement and asked me - you have no points on her? No! She couldn't believe it. Yes, has seen now all my dogs and she loves Kee the most. She said and with everyone in agreement - to show her and wait til next year to breed her. So off we go! I don't have to wait for coat, since she is in full coat. I do have to work hard with her, since I taught her to sit - she sits in the ring. Table too. But will work hard and see how it goes. Now I just hope the judges like her. T.
