YT 2000 Club Donating Member | ![]() *************Canadian Show breeders and Exhibitors and Canadian holidayers to the States******** Travelling to the States: See the new regs at :www.cdc.gov/animalimportation/dogs.html This is going to affect more than the sale of puppies, it is going to affect us who travel to the States for showing our dogs. Read the language very carefully. If you elect to titer your matured dogs, it is not clear that a non Export Rabies titer would be sufficient to clear the border with. Nor is it clear that an Export Rabies titer is enough to clear the USA border. And btw an Export Rabies titer is around $500...!!!!! I had to leave my senior boy Magic at home for my next trip, as he was not going to get his titer results back in time for the trip. And as this was the first time I was going to the States with my senior boy when he has be titered, it never crossed my mind that the titering would not be enough. But reading the language of the rules, has created a big large doubt in my mind. You all know when we are showing young dogs at Nationals we often take our seniors to compete in Veterans Class. And never mind about showing baby puppies 3-6months old! And Canadian pet owners if you titer for Rabies and want to travel on holiday to the States, better check out the rulings. I will send out an email to CDC shortly, once I formulate a clear set of questions.

| ![]() Well, just in case anyone thinks show breeders/owners make a living showing/breeding their dogs, this will set THAT thought straight! Just more expense for these breeders/ showers to cover! Gosh, if I didnt know better, I would be tempted to think they were trying to put some people right out of business! |

| ![]() Interesting. It sounds like someone doesn't want Canadian dogs competing in the US and are trying to weed out Canadian tourists as well--I have nothing good to say about that.
