GMKC in Murfreesboro, TN? Will anyone be attending this event the first weekend in October? There is no match but I will be a spectator. |
I'll be there with George - can't wait to see you! |
What is this. Could you please post a link. Thanks. |
Here you go: American Kennel Club - Show Search |
Thanks for the link. |
1 Attachment(s) I made it to the show today and had a great time. Met some YTalkers, watched a good show, got my girl here out for the day, while my other girl won her class at another show with her handler. Then on the way home, had a great lunch with hubby and got some great apples from Ellijay. And what a great view and day for being out in the country and the mountains! Perfect! :) P.S. Saw some precious puppies at the show too! Who could ask for a better day!! |

Getting excited to see all the yorkies! Anyone else going to be attending this show? |
Saw some beautiful dogs yesterday!! I actually got to really watch some of the topnot work... holy cow you folks work hard... I see why you recommend to practice...practice... practice. Will be going back later this morning to see some more & glean more technique. :D Also got to hang out more with Chattiesmom Cindy. Cannot meet a nicer or more welcoming lady! Of course lil George was looking sharp as always. There was no practice match so Wolfie just absorbed all the sights and sounds. The only problem I have with all of this.. or fear even is that I am liking it just a tad too much:p Should I run while I still have the chance and my money in my pocket? lol |
No way! If it is something that gets you excited - then it is for you. Life is short and you have to find the exciting moments in it to make it worth while. You work hard and so for all the work you do - take a little money out save it and enjoy it. Showing gets me more exercise, out meeting people, allows me to enjoy new places and new people, and it allows you to problem solve too. It is a sport! Sounds like a lot of benefits in the long run to me. :D We also allow it to be family time too. We have made some wonderful memories. So if you like the shows a lot - I would go for it. Wolfie is a cutie! |

Lisa, I truly enjoyed spending time and chatting with you. Wolfie was such a sweetheart, he is so handsome and well behaved - which is such a good reflection on YOU! And from what little time we have spent together, I believe that it's way too late for you to run with your $$ in your pocket. You are hooked, girl! Thank you for your kind words about George. He is a sweetheart and I am having fun with him. It's a special relationship when a friend trusts you enough with their show dog to let you take him to the show!!!! I couldn't agree with you more about the opportunity to get to watch the "pros" up close and personal. Any day I get to be in the presence of the #1 Yorkie in America (Jack) is a great day. He is such an incredible dog, and Vicki, well, you couldn't ask for a nicer person to learn from. Woo-Hoo I just learned that George's father is Jack's Grandfather -- so we expect a GREAT show career for George! |

Actually Jack is #1 All Breed and Stratford's Diamond Jim aka Jimmy is the #1 Yorkie in Breed....it's been split this year. So both dogs will have a #1 ranking but in different areas. In the previous what 6 years only one yorkie actually got to hold the title as #1 Yorkie All Breed and Breed each year...Last year it was Groveshire's Allure, the year before was Ricky, the 2 years before that was Chandler, and then 2 years before that was Wyatt. This is going to be the first time I think in the last 6 years the title is split. Vicki is wonderful! GCH Lane's Mini Cooper went breed in TN this past weekend and got a group 2 Donna |

Both dogs? Do you mean two or specifically these two? Do you know something I don't? |
Quote:
To be the #1 All-Systems Yorkie one has to be the #1 Yorkie in both All -Breed and Breed. So this year so far there will be 2 yorkies holding two different #1 titles for now. Do you understand? |

The magic words in the other post were missing SO FAR. ;) The rankings (as you know Donna) are only not final until the year is over. Many things can impact rankings from now until then. There is a lot of competition. |

I feel pretty confident the title will be split this year. Jimmy is so far ahead in breed points gonna be hard to catch up in that catagory but All Breed is up for grabs :) I follow the rankings and numbers pretty closely :) Donna |

In the following post. Yeah, you did say "for now". It was missing from the first post. Just kidding you. But serious about there being lots of time left. I'm looking forward to the results. |

I really think it's going to be split and there won't be a #1 All-Systems Yorkshire Terrier...it's going to be #1 All Breed and a #1 Breed so it will be split so that's my prediction LOL... :) I look forward to the end results too! Donna |
I see it the same way. I would like to know how the points measure up with the numbers that they did in other years. Seems like lots of competition out there now. I have my own favorites. We'll see how it ends. They've all worked real hard. |

I got to see Jack on Saturday, he is gorgeous and what a mover! Every show I attend I am learning more and more. |

I don't have any favorites this year. My favorite last year won so I was happy LOL she went #1 All-Systems Yorkshire Terrier! My best friend owned her so I was so happy for her! It's just so political to be in the top. I was just happy that Radar in 08 finished #5 in breed and #7 All Breed! I was happy! And yes you can go to The Canine Chronicle and get past results and numbers of previous years :) |
I don't see my last 2 posts. Not sure if they made it to the forum. I agreed, a split is in the future. I don't know if Jimmy needs to show any more to get that one. It would be helpful to know more about the point difference between the others. Quote:

Your other posts made it to the forum :) |
You can go to Canine Chronicle and Top Notch Toys and see the rankings from Jan to the end of Aug. Thru the end of Sept won't be posted for about another week or two to see the differences in points but again you can purchase for $4 the most current and it's up through the 20th of Sept. I think. |
I went ahead and sprung for the report. Here is the point total for all breed points through 9/20. As you can see - it is still definately not decided. Stringer's Something's Gotta Give just pulled ahead of Mini Cooper the weekend after the 20th with a Best In Show for All Breed points but not by much. It's gonna go back and forth between those two for #1 All Breed...Jack didn't win this past Saturday in TN, Cooper did and Jack didn't show on Sunday...they left... Donna |
Go Cooper!!! :D:D:D |
