Rules for Show Ring Okay, it has been awhile for me, but I have forgotten about how do you know when to go back in the ring. When you win your class and then when do you know when to keep going back in? I know one can ask the stewart, but I feel funning asking and I know they are so busy. Thanks, T.

rules I always know when it is my turn to go back in the ring. As a rule someone points to me and says.."Hey, wake up they're waiting for you'... I have a difficult time keeping up with things in a big show..I do not always recognize what class and sex is in the ring. When you are a spectator you have a catolog and it is easy. Alot of it is just remembering what breeder is showing what at the time and who wins their class. I stand close to the ringside and wait to hear my number called if I have to go back. Make a mental note who won the class before and after me..I don't go far and always look ready, the ring steward will annouce the numbers and I can act like I knew it was my turn all along. LOL

Thanks Pat! I thought it was just me that had a hard time knowing when to go back in. I am so nervous so I hang around the ring and just keep listening for my numbers. And God forbid if I have two dogs I have to show - different classes but same breed. At the last match - I knew I had to go back in one more time since we won group. My poor baby and I just kept hanging around the last ring until they started Best In Match. We never left - fearing we would miss out. I got this far - we weren't missing Best in Match! Thanks again! It makes me feel better that I am not alone in this! T.

Its going back in for reserve that I have to watch for. If you win your class, its back for winners. If you took 2nd to the one who took winners you go back in for reserve. If you take winners its back in for BOB. I listen closly for my number to be called. I just showed 2 dogs at the same show and talk about confusing! LOL

Take some one with you- that way they can listen for your number- old folks like me tend to forget the what the number is like- I know it's on my arm band but at my age I tend to forget. What can I say too much radiation to the old head. I really think it is more fun to be ringside and watch all that is going on. When you are showing you have to stay focused and you miss so much of what is going on in the ring. | |

I have jv'd with Kathy as co-owner of Buster and I am going to finish him here in the northwest, this will be my first time. If I trip and fall I only hope its not on the dog If I miss my number I only hope someone will be kind enough to say WAKE UP, to this novice!
