Good luck to all of you who are going to the shows this weekend in Oklahoma City. I hope our YT members do well. I hope someone is able to take some pictures and give us updates.

Oh, details!! I live pretty close to OKC and might be able to make it. Can anyone tell me when and where? I have no idea how to stay up to date on when shows are happening near me but I've always wanted to go to a dog show.

Friday at the Biltmore Hotel. Puppy Sweeps starts about 10 am. I have a dog in "open" that my daughter is showing for me.

Yes. He needs two majors to finish, and there are majors all three days at Oklahoma.

Okay...this is probably just gonna show how ignorant I am...but I'd rather ask and look stupid on here than show up at the hotel and look stupid! :)

Is this something that people can just go watch? Does it cost to watch? I've never been to a dog show, just watched them on tv. I'd hate to show up and be the only spectator!!

Anyone can go watch. They have some fabulous vendors that sell Yorkie/Toy breed stuff, and you can even buy a raffle ticket for one of the clubs gorgeous prizes. Last year I won a pet stroller stuffed with goodies. Oklahoma is a very nice town, and the hotel staff were wonderful. I couldn't go this year as I have a grooming business, and we are fortunate to be very busy this time of year. However, my daughter decided to go and promised me she would buy me a raffle ticket..LOL. I feel lucky!!!

Awesome! I'm pretty excited now! The hotel is only about 45 minutes from us so it shouldn't be a problem to get out there. I'll definitely buy a raffle ticket too.

And I shouldn't bring my own dog with me, right? I wouldn't want to distract the dogs that are showing, but I also don't want to get there and everyone else have their pets and me be jealous! :) Sorry for all the questions but thanks for the answers!

You sound like me! I've never been to a dog show and I would love to go to this one. I just don't want to go by myself. I'm too chicken. :p I just emailed a couple of friends to see if they might want to go with me. :)

Go and enjoy yourselves. It is such a lot of fun. Cheer for my boy "Silkiss'd Lets Rock" we call him Tucker who is handled by my daughter. She is only 15, and loves to show. You can see her at Shirebourne Yorkshire Terriers - Home Page

I am sorry, but I don't know the rules for taking a pet along ringside. I have seen some ladies with pups on their laps in the audience, but they could have been pups that were in Puppy Sweepstakes in the earlier shows.

Never be shy to come to a dog show! There is always spectators there. You won't be alone in that aspect. The vendors are good at this show and I love it being in the hotel!

Go and have fun. There will be many gorgeous Yorkies in the ring. Please applaud for my daughter when she goes in the ring she is only 15, but is a very good handler. She will be showing "Silkiss'd Let's Rock" we call him Tucker. He is such a sweet boy.

Which day do you recommend (Saturday or Sunday)? What time does it start?

I think I will come, even if it's by myself. I can't miss a chance to meet Radar. :) Didn't I read that Mary is showing this weekend also?
