coat As a groomer I have dealt with all types...but I rarely see the old type wool. Those coats were not different then lamb's wool and all I could do for the pet owner was shave them down...and that meant face included. I have seen the coat come off in one piece, no different then shearing a lamb. I do see a softer and cottony type in the Yorkies here in Florida..as to the ring, you see soft, but not like 20 yrs ago. |

Has anyone tried Summerwinds? Jen |
I'm confused between the cottony and silky coat. I am extremely new to the whole "coat" thing and didn't even realize you had to do anything for them to grow a "show coat". (Don't laugh please) :D Fiona's coat just doesn't seem to be growing in properly. She is 11 mos and it is still pretty short and wavy on her back legs. Her coat is very fine and soft, but don't know if it'd be qualified as silky or cottony. Would y'all recommend wrapping and the oil? I am really new at this, and any help would be much appreciated! |

I have tried a few different types of oil products on Schatzie (Not Ransom yet) and no matter how diluted the oil Schatzie just looks oily/nasty/messy/unkept. :( She however does have the cottony coat so this might make a difference, not sure? Ransom has definitely a silky coat but I have not yet attempted to use any oil products on him at this time. I've been given some Coat Handler products and am very pleased so far. :) I am almost guessing that if I decided to try some oil products on him I will end up with the same oily nasty unkept mess? If anybody has a good formula regarding dilution of the oil product Id be interested. ;) |
She is adorable. I am honored that you named her after me. LOL Kate |
Hi, We recently started using Plush Puppy's oil and I love it...Jolie has a very silky coat and I have gotten away with just a small amount of the oil and no wrapping. I have even been able to keep her coat through whelping with light oil. |
oil Plush Puppy is nice, isn't it...? |
