Back from the show 4 Attachment(s) We are back from our 2 day show. Our first day wasn't great,I didn't allow enough time to prepare my dog for the ring.Grooming wise he was more than ready,but I didn't allow enough time to warm him up,walking and getting the beans out of him.So he was a total lunatic in the ring LOL...But he looked fabulous !! Day 2 we started to prepare a lot earlier and had time to walk him around alot,also spent more time practicing stacking and holding the stack.....I am such a "newbie" !! Sebastien went alot better and was so responsive,I was so proud of him. We took Reserve Winners Dog !! I was so excited,here are a few photos from the weekend, |

CONGRATULATIONS on RWD!!! Carly - You both look FABULOUS!!! Sebastien is a winner and he will surely prove that to the judges. Best wishes on continued success with him. Love the pictures - they came out great! |

Thanks Everyone :) The next show is in 3 weeks and I WILL be prepared this time !! I know what I have to work on now. Too funny Connie, that is what Denis calls me all of the time " Carly" LOL |
Ace is always a nut the first day in the ring too. It's just the puppy in them I guess. Sebastian looks great and you're not looking too bad either. Way to go!! |

You have lots of time to work on stance/stay. Try taking him to busy places it can help. But if you can get to showsite early and walk him around and then in the ring |I found that this helps alot. |

Yes, we'll be sure to get there early and walk him around and then in the ring that he'll show in,that's what we did on Sunday and it worked awesome. |
Carl, congrats on your RWD, that's fantastic. Sebastien looks gorgeous (you too!). I know exactly what you mean. Gidget was BOB puppy in her first show; in her second show she hopped on her hind legs like a bunny rabbit. And that's the good part. :( Think of it this way - it's good that he has personality and energy and now it just needs to be reigned in a little bit. At least that's what everyone tells me about Gidget. I also feel extremely clumsy and awkward in the ring. I just don't know what to do with all my "stuff" and Gidget needs my full attention. I have two left feet and I know I look like a big doof. You, however, do NOT! :) I'm sure Sebastien will do great - how can he not? He's beautiful. |

I just heard of some handling classes within my reach here in Montreal.They are on Wednesday nights.I'm going to go watch next Wednesday night and then start the week after when the new session starts.I'm sure thay will help me alot. I guess just practice and repitition,watch others while you are waiting to go in.I'm practicing everyday now when I take Sebastien out for his walk,I learned that he needs to get the beans out of him first,then he concentrates a lot more. Thanks for the compliment on Sebastien,your Gidget is beautiful too,I am looking forward to watching her mature. |
