If anyone wants to know there will be a dog show this weekend but unfortunately only 2 yorkie bitches and 2 male specials. If anyone is interested the yorkie that won the breed at Westminster will be there and yes Radar will be there too LOL...it's a small All-Breed show but should be fun! Since the count is small I'd normally stay home but my friends Havanese and Chinese Crested are going to be there so I'm gonna go ahead and go. And always a good excuse to go out of town to a dog show! Oh I forgot to mention Radar went Breed on Sunday at the Ft. Worth dog show and got a second look in the group! We had a good weekend!

Thanks Connie! Tonia did a wonderful job showing him for me this weekend! Brian won on Saturday and Radar won on Sunday so a nice split. I showed Radar in the Group and he and I got the second look! The group judge was a crusty old woman it made me laugh! I was going to brush my dog as I always do and she told me not on my table brush him on my time not hers LOL...gotta love the senior judges and alot of respect! I just laughed inside and said yes mam LOL! Loved it!! I was shocked she wanted me to show him again for the second look after scolding me LOL Loved it!!

Donna, congratulations on the breed win. I can't believe the entries are so low for Navasota, isn't it usually a major? Good luck.

I think it's only been a major a couple of times. It's usually a very small show. With it having a new superintendant and not handled with Onofrio maybe that is why....and Claramore is that weekend as well...

Thanks! It's tough to beat Brian Livingston but we gonna give it a try but we have good judges this weekend! I highly respect June Penta as the judge and I'll still hold her in high regard even if Brian beats Radar this weekend :)

Well it appears it will be the battle of the Handlers.....I hate that, but some judges are known not to look down at what is at the bottom of the lead. But, if one beats a handler....well then you know the judge is judging the dog. As we all know a handler can finish a dead cat.

Yeah that is why I hired Tonia for the weekend if there isn't a ring conflict of course. Gotta play the political game sometimes in order for the better dog to win, not saying Radar is the better dog of course LOL...I'd rather show myself but oh well gotta play the game in order to succeed in this endeavor or at least in what my goals are.
Someone told me some handlers could make a pepsi can look like a yorkie and take it in and win LOL...that has to be one of my favorite analogies LOL

Well I've seen the dog Brian is taking into the ring....is he winning absolutely, "Brian" is winning. I've seen some top handlers take in a dogs that were horrible, had to be drug around the ring, noticable horrible toplines and win.

I've used a handler only with one dog and only because I was told....that when you are a newbie and have a perfectly good dog that is Championship Material, a newbie can ruin it. Will I do it again, I'll never say never. Who knows as time goes on if I'll be physically capable.

Well, Tonia is showing him in the breed class and "IF" he wins I will take him in the Group. Since I do not have any class yorkies and I need to keep my face in the ring until I get my new bitch sometime down the road the only way I can keep my face is showing Radar right now and getting him in the group! Wish it weren't that way but if one has to play the game I'm game LOL! But then again Radar isn't being campaigned and shown every weekend so I can afford to hire Tonia when needed.
It's a political arena and sometimes you have to pay to play :)

Radar didn't win today but OMG showed so good with Tonia today! He just floated around the ring, I was a proud momma!! Tomorrow is another day but win or lose Radar is the yorkie I'd bring home any day :)
